3✨ A great early reader chapter book that teaches a bit about ancient Egyptian customs. They even solve a puzzle to help the queen whose eye sight is hindering her from going to the afterlife. Read to my son for bedtimes. #SeriesLove

This is the first part of The Mummy graphic novel. It's good, doesn't get very far in but the graphics are great 🐈⬛

I gave Casey a tummy-rub while I entered the homestretch with the 30-years-delayed sequel to THE MUMMY! I‘m loving it. Lots of interesting mythology expansions and some seemingly simple revelations that turn out to be anything but.
I also got desperate enough to uninstall & reinstall Litsy, which helped with some of the post-iOS-update problems. It‘s still not perfect, but it‘s far more usable now.
Found deep in my stacks…. I was, of course, wildly entertained by this middle grade NF account of the discovery of Tutankamun‘s tomb (which I have been fortunate enough to visit & so can say is every bit as awe inspiring as this book makes it sound like it must be) & the subsequent “excavation.” Fleming highlights the thrill/mystery, rumors of a curse, & also discusses (briefly) the wider context of early 205th c. Egypt. Great middle grade read.
In 2126 Edric Montague takes his tutor Dr Entwerfen to Egypt to test his galvanic battery by attempting to resuscitate the mummy of Cheops. Back in England, the country is gearing up to elect a new Queen, and elsewhere in Europe the new King of Ireland is invading Spain to restore the monarchy there.
I found it rather heavy going and overlong. The speculations from 1826 about life in 2126 were much more fun than the romantic melodramas.
