Interesting food history book about New Jersey. Old pictures were great throughout!

This is an example of how different my reading tastes are. The first three Goodreads reviews are two stars, but I loved this book. I was immediately drawn in by the story and characters. I loved the lyrical writing and setting and cried several times. I thought the last reveal appeared too fast, but my heart was taken by this book.

This is a first for me. All five #WickedWords were in one book.
This book is also a #Roll100 #readyourebooks & #SeriesLove2025 title.

But, I still don‘t know the movie these five words describe. 🤔

Andrew65 Well done 👏👏👏

Is the Film Carpool?

AsYouWish @Read4life @Andrew65 OH MY STARS!!! I forgot all about that movie - I loved that movie so much in my teen years!!! While it was a really good guess - not the movie this month. 💙💙💙💙 2w

It was nice being back in Sea Haven on the Jersey shore. Ceepak & Danny catch a case when preserved body parts and skulls from 20 years ago are found in various locations around town. Is the serial killer a regular vacationer or a neighbor?

#BookSpinBingo #readyourebooks #Roll100 #SeriesLove2025

It also contained all 5 #WickedWords for the month!!

TheSpineView Great job! 💙📘 3w

#WickedWords @AsYouWish

Word 3/5 #bet

All three words so far are from this book. I wonder if I can get all five from it.

CatLass007 When I was in the 8th grade our West Virginia History assigned each of us to memorize and recite one of two poems. We just counted off 1-2, 1-2, and all the ones had to learn Joyce Kilmer‘s “Trees” and all the twos had to learn “Woodsman, Spare That Tree,” which was more than twice as long. I don‘t remember the poet. Then she started giving us extra credit if we learned and recited both poems. The verses from “Woodsman, Spare That Tree” (cont)⬇️ 2mo

CatLass007 are right at the edge of my memory. I feel like I could recite it if I could just reach out and touch the words. I was just about to say that I can‘t even imagine remembering “Trees” but I just remembered the first line. I‘m not sure I could remember any more than that. It‘s been 50 years! 2mo
dabbe @CatLass007 What a lovely story! I believe there is such a power in memorizing poetry or a monologue from something like a Shakespearean play. I still can recite “Immense et Rouge“ by Jacques Prévert because of my French teacher having us recite a poem in French! 🤩 2mo
