I really got into how this is not a typical main character… a bit unexpected framework of a story and it just worked. I don‘t think I‘ve ever rooted harder for a character before.

Bookish_Thoughts I‘ve had my eye on this one for awhile. 1mo

Honestly, I don‘t quite know how to feel about this book which is why I gave it 3 stars.

This book started off so slow. It took me a while to get into it. It just felt like the story was meandering and that made it boring.

By the second half it got more exciting and it low key got a little horny, which I typically don‘t mind but in this case it felt random.

Prairiegirl_reading I was hate reading by the end. Lots of people love it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3mo
oddandbookish @Prairiegirl_reading I didn‘t hate it but I definitely didn‘t love it either. It got such great reviews and I was expecting more from it. 3mo

Why do I read other books when I‘m supposed to be reading a particular book?

This was so tender, such an unexpected read. I couldn‘t help imagining myself in all their places (kind of the point, I know)

OMG, this book! 😍 It totally stole my heart in a “A Man Called Ove” sort of way. I had tears in my eyes by the end. Loved it!

kspenmoll Oh! Your words are a wonderful incentive for me to read this book! 8mo

I‘m struck by this assertion: A book does not exist until it is read. A writer writes the words. But WE as the reader decide what the story is. What a fabulous and provocative topic of discussion for a book club.

Amiable @dabbe Two … or 2 million! 🤯 8mo
Amiable @Sace @Deblovestoread Isn‘t this interesting? What follows logically then is that every book actually exists as multiple books, depending on how many people have read it. So there are literally millions of versions of, say, “War & Peace.” Some that exist now and many others that existed years ago. 8mo
AnnCrystal @Amiable “every book actually exists as multiple books“

That is an interesting theory!

Lcsmcat @Amiable Absolutely! There are things that “change” as each person/generation brings their own experiences to a book. 8mo
