My boyfriend and I have been doing a blog project where we listen to a record we love and match it with a new recipe! This week, to combat the mental health catastrophe that has been the past few days, we went with something lemon light and full of sunshine. (The band is called The Weepies, but it's happy music, I promise!) Hope you check it out and enjoy!

Mr. Lincoln is the principal of a school where he is loved by all, except one student named Eugene. This student is a bully of other students and causes trouble in his classes. Soon Mr. Lincoln gets through to the student . It took time, patience, and perception. This book teaches students to be kind and accept others differences. Racism is a topic of discussion.

There are approximately 14,000 children in foster care in Michigan, and each year approximately 3,000 of these children will become legally free for adoption. On average, 300 children are waiting with no identified families.

This picture book has amazing illustrations that shows exactly what is going on in the book. It also uses some diversity language by calling grandma “babushka“. There is no stereotyping in this book and i love that it leaves the thunder cake recipe in the back of the book.
