Pickpick

I went into this expecting a generic thriller, but it turned out to be rather good. The ending wandered into unlikely territory which spoilt it a little for me, but overall a good read. 4🌟

Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Penguin Books (UK), for the opportunity to read an ARC. #NetGalley

Current audiobook. I've really been listening to a lot of audiobooks. It's just so calming to listen while driving. I seem to have the most time to myself in the car, so I might as well try to enjoy it. Just started this one this morning!

They put up the December BOTM selections super early, and I was glad to see two that I wanted! Also, they have Red White and Royal Blue and i was like, uhhhhh that came out in May??? But I guess it‘s a hardcover exclusive to BOTM as it originally came out in paperback. Anyway, looking forward to both of these!!

Just Before I Died | S. K. Tremayne

This was a brilliant novel, in the dark and atmospheric setting of a Dartmoor winter. I love S.K. Tremayne‘s voice - she paints really believable, flawed characters and always manages to weave an interesting narrative with plenty of twists and turns. I enjoyed this even more than ‘The Ice Twins‘, which has a similarly sinister, atmospheric backdrop. Highly recommended!

Time for a new book! I really enjoyed ‘The Ice Twins‘, so I‘m expecting this to be a decent read. I‘m stuck in my bed for the next two weeks, recovering from surgery...I‘m so grateful for books and films right now! 😊

CaseyLea @TheBookAddict Thank you! 😊 2w
Buechersuechtling I hope, it‘s a planned recovery, (meaning that the surgery went well and that you knew beforehand about the two weeks of bedrest). 💐 I also hope that you can enjoy the downtime with lots of good reading and/or suspensive audiobooks‼️ Feel better soon because without pain reading time 📚 is much more pleasant and joyful. 2w
CaseyLea @Buechersuechtling Thanks for your kind words! Yes, it was a planned surgery for endometriosis. I seem to be in more pain today, but I find reading to be an excellent distraction! 😊 1w

Just Watch Me: A Novel | Jeff Lindsay

I read this in 2 days - could not put it down. A terrific, fun crime novel. Clever plot & interesting protagonist - Riley Wolfe is an elite criminal who performs daring heists, does parkour & is a master of disguise. He‘s inventive, but will he succeed? FBI agent Del Grado searches for Wolfe‘s family history so there‘s a road trip w classic American scenes in police stations & diners w bad coffee. All the Dexter feels. Thanks #netgalley loved it.

Cathythoughts Sounds good 👍🏻❤️ 2w

When Ali and her husband Matt decide to separate, Ali moves in with her best friend, Chrissy. Chrissy talks Ali into using a dating app where she meets Ewan. Chrissy and Ewan go on a date that ends up going badly. The next day, Ali wakes up with blood on her, shoes missing, bruises and she can't remember what happened. She also has a condition where she can no longer recognize faces, even those closest to her. A good thriller!

What a dark and twisted thriller. The plot builds steadily with some creepy moments. Some of the twists I figured out but not all. A good solid thriller 4* #Netgalley.
