I see why this one isn‘t one of the more popular Freida books. It‘s a no from me dawg.

It‘s spooky reading season, and I want to devour as many scary stories as possible. I needed to find the perfect book to listen to while decorating my house for Halloween. I couldn‘t have been happier with my selection. A group of friends on their way to a hotel for a week relaxing in nature get lost, and they start disappearing — one by one? Yep, I was sold!

I thought I had this one figured out, but I was wrong!
This one was hard to predict with some extra twists to keep you guessing. A familiar premise: 3 couples travelling to an inn in the country, their car fails, no cell phone reception-lots of dynamic going on among them all😳

Not my absolute favorite McFadden thrillride, but still a very good story rife with the usual twists and turns that she's known for. One By One will definitely keep readers on their toes.

I thoroughly enjoyed Want to know a secret and this was touted as being like Christie‘s And then there were none. Which I read when I was 12 and still to this day think is one of the best murder mysteries I‘ve ever read. So brave and ambitious to be comparing it to that classic. Well it‘s nothing like ATTWN. It‘s one of the worst things I‘ve ever read. So to anyone comparing it to our Agatha‘s excellent and elegant story I say How very dare you
This was such a quick, gripping read! Another of McFadden‘s that I‘ve loved! It‘s shorter than some of her other ones but there‘s still twists & turns & I didn‘t see the huge twist coming at all. If you love thrillers & McFadden‘s other books, you‘ll love this one too!
I am in the minority on this one. But not my favorite by this author.

2/2024 read in 2 days … always surprises you! Love this author
Book 9🎧 2.9⭐️
Nothing special to me, but an OK thriller.
Typically, I love everything Freida McFadden writes, but this book just did not do it for me. Have you ever been watching a movie and witnessed every single character make the worst decision at every move possible leaving you yelling at screen? This was that in book form. I found myself frustrated with everyone involved in this plot. On a positive note, as always, McFadden delivers a truly unsuspecting twist at the end that brought my rating up
Decided to try making a list instead of grabbing whatever lol. Hoping this helps me read more in September!!📚📚🍁
Great twists and super fast paced. This wasn‘t quite what I expected. I thought the story was extremely compelling and the ending did take me by surprise even though I was half expecting it to turn out the way it did. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I really liked the very last bit of the story because I definitely did not predict it.
🌟🌟ok 3rd book by this author and not sure why she‘s rated so highly. Ive listened to them all and they like a campy movie, or feeding on junk food then feeling guilty for afterwards lol. The stories are way unrealistic, cringy in parts and eye rolls everywhere. The characters in this book are unlikeable so who cared. Especially Claire! Not one person responds like normal people would. 🙄i just don‘t get the hype.
This was a thrilling book. Kept me on my toes. The ending was such a surprise to me. I was not expecting it.
Currently reading. Starting this one now.

Claire Matchett has planned a trip for herself and 5 other friends. It turns out not like she proposed. Their car breaks down and they must hike through the woods to their inn. But they get lost and one by one they begin to die. Will the six of them survive or will they die with only one person surviving? This is a tense drama told from Claire‘s POV and an alternating anonymous person‘s POV.
This book has one of my favorite thriller plots, a road trip with friends to the wilderness and it‘s fast paced. Also when there are many characters, it‘s bound to keep you guessing till the end as to who is the culprit. All the characters were so different from each other and the chapters alternate between the female protagonist and “Anonymous”. A good whodunnit which definitely kept me excited and I couldn‘t help but binge the book.
#18 of 2023 Checking another Freida McFadden off the list. She is definitely my current obsession.
Not my favorite my this author but kept my attention. I wasn‘t really impressed with the twist. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Unreliable characters + woods+ tension+ McFadden's typical banana pants crazy twists= a ton of fun. I say 4.5 stars. Almost a 5 but the twist/ ending lacked a bit of something.. still fun though
Gosh I thought I had this one figured out, but of course.. Freida threw me for a loop and I was dead wrong!
Love her! There‘s just something about her.. 🤔 I flew through this one just like the others!
After committing a horrible crime, a woman goes on the run before the police find out. When a blizzard forces her off the road, she seeks shelter at creepy Baxter Motel, where the cute owner is friendly, but the tenants have a history of winding up dead. Loved this suspenseful Hitchcockian book! You may think you have this one figured out, but you may be wrong! Not completely unpredictable & not a fan of the epilogue, but this one had me hooked!
