Unbearably tense story about two brothers, Jonah, 16, and Simon, 14, who have left home for Arizona where they hope they will be reunited with their older brother, Matt, who has been fighting in the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, they get picked up by Mitch and Lilly and things start to go horribly wrong. I really liked the main characters and their predicament was nail biting.

Neuroscience researcher comes across his own brain scan which is supposed to be part of the control group for one of his studies, notices major abnormalities, & begins a journey of self reflection. This is a combo professional & personal memoir & it included just enough hard neuroscience for me to learn something new & still basically be able to follow what he was saying, but I wasn‘t always on board with the conclusions he drew from the science.

julesG Sounds a bit like phrenology. 5mo
IndoorDame @julesG I never made the connection before, but you‘re right. The way we talk about reading brain scans and what traits are controlled by what areas of the brain today is very reminiscent of that language. 5mo

Another great book in the series. Mr. Whisper has escaped and is leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake. He‘s after DCI Logan and anyone close to him. Can he stop Mr. Whisper from kidnapping and killing everyone he‘s close to and loved? Is there a leak in the department? This is a very serious book that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering who is next on the list. #SeriesLove2023 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Another fabulous book in what is an excellent series. #SeriesLove2023

A serial killer escapes from a secure hospital and targets Jack and his team. This book moves along with great pace and tension, and love how the story resolved itself from a hopeless situation. Will be interesting to see how everyone recovers from this.

AnnCrystal Mister Whisper???? Funny, I wrote a about a child predator named, Mr. Whispers for a story published in the Wolf Warriors V anthology by Thurston Howl Publications. Except my short story featured a ghost and wolves.

Gosh, I hope this doesn't mean there is a Mr. Whispers out there somewhere. Too horrifying to even wonder about.

AnnCrystal @Andrew65 never read A Whisper of Sorrows by J. D. Kirk. You're review of the book caught my attention. It did make me realize that there are no reader posts for the Wolf Warriors V anthology...I should post some. Fun, fun. 8mo

This is book 4 of a series about a family of psychopaths that kill for “good”. I do enjoy a good revenge thriller, and I liked the first books in this series (especially book 2). This one was a disappointment though. For a book just over 300 pages, it felt really long and slow. Very heavy on smut and light on story, which might be good for some readers, but I missed the strong thrilling story of the previous books. 2.5⭐️

This is a very entertaining, steamy dark M/M romance. This series revolves around a billionaire who adopts a bunch of child psychopaths and teaches them to basically be vigilantes. This book 2 which centers around one of the sons who is a professor and a former FBI agent who is also psychic. If you are a fan of horror/thrillers & romance, this series is a great smash-up. 5⭐️
