“But, I also have the impulse control of a hungry raccoon. “
- Aurora Roberts
“It happened quickly. So quickly, I‘m worried he got too much of the Ativan. I ground up and mixed in with the Cheval blanc.”
In the depths of mental health and the planes of mental diversity.
This book was so sweet and spicy! A bodyguard working for a princess knew he had his hands full with her but he never knew what he was getting himself into.
Plus side of working an overnight, all the time to read!!!
So it‘s been a bit! I got super crazy busy but here is my current read, a throwback from my childhood :)
I figured I should probably read some of the books I have on my kindle so here we are!
HD Carlton is messing with my brain once again but I decorated my kindle case so ig it‘s ok 😂

Books Read: 19
Female authors: 9/11
Most thrilling: The Haunting of Ashburn House
Most daunting: The Foxhole Court
Most comforting: Loveless
It was alright. Although one of the reviews that I read mentioning that this book made them kinda dislike the characters and I feel this is true. I did not like the drastic personality changes.
This book is horrifying… in a good way! I am honest to god spooked by this book. The situation is dire and the details are spookily specific… definitely not for anyone who gets scared too easily.
This book held a medium pace with a great plot line. It felt more real and engaging than some movies are. The women in the book is forced to deal with unspeakable trauma. When faced with breaking the cycle with her own daughter, we see how difficult that choice can be and how much sacrifice must be made.
Finally jumping on to the bandwagon. @Jack_of_all_Trades highly suggested it and I‘ve got to say, I‘m hooked!
This books had me hooked… three days later and I‘ve read the entire WEBTOON comic that is posted… oops 🙊
For some reason I am struggling hardcore with this book. It‘s kind of dragging on for me. Has anyone else had this happen? Where you‘re reading a series and loose your ambition part way through? How do you keep powering on??
Books read in the Month of March: 12
Favorite book: Solitaire by Alice Oseman
“I, Sirius Black, Harry Potters godfather, herby give him to permission to visit Hogsmeade on weekends.”
To this day this still gets me… 🥺
Ok so.. I picked this book off of the sale rack at B&N one day not really expecting much. I honestly thought it would be a YA read about some teen girls playing witches. Though when I started reading it I quickly realized that this is not at all case. This book hit heavy on young women dealing with the patriarchy and sexual assault. It talked about the true nature of womanhood and the need for revenge.

Once again I am loving Elle Kennedy and all that she writes. The main characters of Grace and Logan really hit home in this one and I feel as though their journey could have been a real one with lies, jealousy, hurt, trauma, and repair.
“You‘re not broken, baby. I promise.”

I‘m pretty sure that I‘m the broken one now because this book is breaking my heart and making it whole all over again
Elle Kennedy once again knows how to drag me right into the mix of her books. If only I could attend Briar University!

The way this book touches on mental health was so amazing. It is hard to believe that the author was only 19 when she wrote this but I can also relate. Tori Spring is the epitome of young women isolating and trying to coping through mental health alone while feeling the pressure of school, family, and social life. And just like reality, it all and switch in an instant. Much love for this book, for Tori, and for Alice Oseman.
February reads!!! My #1 is a tie between “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” and “Heartstopper”! They were both so amazing. I wish I could read them for the first time all over again.
2 girl, 1 imposter. 3 parents, 1 uncle. Many secrets that all lead to one grandmother. This book so far has been pretty mid. I thought it would be better but I also think spring semester has been making reading more difficult!
This book honestly has stuck in my brain waves since I finished it! To begin with it was kind of slow but from the ending was awesome and it was such an underrated twist!!

I loved this book, it was so deep and so complete. A complete and utterly beautiful and unexpected book.
This book is my newest obsession.. I started reading this book at around 2 pm today and I‘m almost done with it… it‘s been my motivation to do some school work and read as a reward 🫣
This book was exactly as it was described to be. The descriptions of the Eucharist were great but I felt a little underwhelmed by some of the stories and the lessons.

I‘m not sure what pushed me to read this book this week. Saturday I was sitting upstairs getting ready for a baby shower when I saw it sitting on my shelf and just had the urge to read it.
I must say, for going into this book blind (I got it from my sister) it‘s going pretty well and I‘m enjoying it more than I thought I would considering the plot.
Yay I finally got to reading the second book of the series!!! I love love love it so far! On the darker side of things…. I ACCIDENTALLY READ THE SENTENCE ON THE LAST PAGE AND IM SO SHOOK RIGHT NOW!!!!
So I‘m about 1/4 into this book and it‘s taking me a while to read it. I think it‘s mainly due to how much school work I‘ve been doing and how much I‘ve been working! (Peep the pink scrubs 👀) I‘m hoping to spend some more time this weekend reading it and hopefully relaxing before Midterms start!
My fav book of January has to be Ice Breaker! But here‘s my recap just in case 🤗 16 books in January
1. Class on Monday (future social worker over here 🥰) then work work work and a dinner with my cool aunt! Not to mention some awesome internship evenings.
2. Current read is Starry Eyes… not sure if this ya read is for me
3. Bubbly and Anxious!
Ps. Stole this off of @dabbe page!

Honestly can say that I was bored by this book. I thought it had potential and could have been a good read but I just did not vibe with it. Amy from Kansas was just a little to lack luster and the insta love romance was not it. The characters were not developed and we kept switching who was involved with very little detail.

This book touched on the topics of race, politics, family, manipulation, and almost a coming of age story as it follows Emira Tucker through her struggles of working as a family babysitter, going through a relationship, and dealing with a boss who romanticizes Emira. This book is what I‘d consider a should read for young women.
“Oh girl, yes,” she said. “One hundred percent. This is probably the best thing to ever happen to Emira.”

Ok but is it? Cause to me that seems manipulative as all hell…. This book has me invested
At first I had a hard time with this book. The beginning was good and then the middle was a little slow. Once I started to read it again I was hooked! If I had just read a few more pages I would have hit the best plot twist and been entranced once again. And let‘s just say, I need more Ravi and Pippa!!!
It hurt to even think of it, to know what it meant for her and the life she‘d never live.
She had to confess

I can‘t tell if I liked this one more or less than the first book! It was most definitely a good read and it brought more twists and turns! The ending did not disappoint 🫢
“Simple. You‘re going to kill her. “ She looked right at me and said, “Dorothy must die.”

This was a pretty good read! I loved the main characters and the plot line. It felt like it went so quick too! Now onto the second book. #murdermystery #crimebooks #agoodgirlsguidetomurder
