Not That Bad is a powerful, unflinching collection of essays on sexual violence and survival. Edited by Roxane Gay, it brings together voices that reveal the heavy, often invisible toll of rape culture. Raw, brave, and essential—this book is a must-read for anyone willing to confront harsh truths and listen deeply.

(Not going for full cards this year LOL!)
"They are all innocent until proven guilty. But not me, I am a lair until I am proven honest"
This is a very graphic story of 18 year old Emma. It's explicit, straight to the point and yet it's tackling a lot nuances around the 'she asked for it' culture that face victims of sexual assault.
The author's note at the end of the book should also be read.
This is a five star book for me.
Very, very insightful and enlightening. Addressing ageism, racism, homo/transphobia, and of course sexism powerfully in one fell swoop. It‘s one of those books everyone should read. As enjoyable a book as there can be on such a grim subject.
A lot of good essays in this book. Ones that stood out: performance model of sex, beyond yes or no, when pregnancy is outlawed only outlaws will be pregnant, how do you fuck a fat woman, the fantasy of female non consent: why the female submissive scares us and why she shouldn‘t, reclaiming touch, an immodest proposal, why nice guys finish last.
I went for a walk on Xmas morn, probably for the first time ever. I was so organised. I ate beautiful food all day eg. a baked brie, lobster and scallop pots, mini meatloaf and pavlova but I didn‘t make anything from scratch which is very unusual for me. It was a very relaxed day. After I scored these books from the Little Free Library, I spent a couple of hours on the beach sussing them out which is something I love to do with new to me books.
