pickThis book wanders a bit and I don‘t know that I believe the authors assertion that the specific poem that the book focuses on has as much of an impact as the authors claims, but it is well written and interesting.
The book follows the life of a papal secretary who rediscovered and made available through his copies a book the author claims jump started modern science and thought.

It's a nonfiction book about the history of Print and Books and how it all affected culture in Europe. I thought it was very well-written and interesting, and easy to understand. I also think that, despite the text being very short, it had s lot of information that helped contextualize the situation at that time.

Even so, I found it rather slow in the first couple of chapters and, as I‘m a bit fed up of ‘feminist retellings‘, I considered bailing.
Then I suddenly became engrossed and wanted to learn all about the life and art of Artemisia Gentileschi at the start of the seventeenth century in Italy - a wonderful book!
