The Good House | Tananarive Due

Pickpick

My second Tananarive Due book and damn, she's so good. This was creepy and tragic, and yeah it's 700+ pages but it never felt that long. So glad I have a bunch more by this author to read still. 🖤

I liked this and I kind of hope there's more to come in this series. I really enjoyed certain aspects of Robin's storyline, but thought the overall mystery plot of this one was too convoluted and long-winded. And I'm not sure I'm on the current relationship train that JK seems to working towards... we'll see.

Silvertongue @SarahSaysRead omg I feel the same way about the relationship!!! So hard for me to completely enjoy it because the will they/won‘t they moments take up nearly a third of the book. I feel like we‘re in the minority here though, but happy to find someone with similar feelings!!! 6y

Girl Like Her | Talia Hibbert

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Not on Litsy (of course) but I wanted to let you all know that Talia Hibbert's first paranormal romance is an absolute DELIGHT. Full of silver weapons, sexy banter, and consent. Chastity is a huntress and tries to kill Luke bc he's a werewolf, which he finds incredibly attractive. It's awesome, it's 99 cents on Kindle, go get it.

October TBR! Excited to be getting into the October mood with some dark fantasy, paranormal, and/or weird things. (Except for Empire of Sand; I just want to get to that arc before its release date). Currently I‘m about halfway through The Bone Witch.

Death Notice | Zhou Haohui

Pickpick

An action-packed crime thriller set in China that sold more than 1 million print copies and is now published in English. The killer styles himself as an avenger of unpunished crimes, calling himself Eumenides & sending out death notices listing their crimes and date of execution. This is the first book in a trilogy has a complicated plot & sometimes stilted dialogue but it was a pretty exciting page turner! #ripxiii

Might have been better if it was shorter? By the time the creepy stuff started to happen, I just wanted to be done with it. I'm almost always disappointed by King, I don't know why I get the urge to try again every few years.

Tera0707 I am the same way with King books! With the exception of Green Mile, Dolores Claiborne, Carrie, and Misery, I just can‘t seem to get into his books like others do. #unpopularopinion 6y
