pickI‘ve decided to try this book again properly. It‘s about Candace, a Chinese-American, who is one the few to survive a pandemic. Sounds familiar? It‘s eerily how close the author comes to explain how a pandemic 😷 influences our lives & changes our city. I recommend to be in a good headspace for this.

Another @24in48 Readathon in the books!! I finished the weekend by reading 25 hours, 4 minutes, and 53 seconds. I finished 2 graphic novels, 3 books, and got about three quarters of the way through a 4th! I wasn‘t as active online as I have been in the past, but these readathon weekends are so good for my soul! I can‘t wait for the next one in July!

pickI haven‘t read much dystopian literature lately, so it's been interesting to listen/read to these two dystopian novels in a week. I enjoyed Meg Elison's The Book of the Unnamed Midwife, which envisions humanity slaughtered by a virus that makes it impossible for women to deliver healthy babies. Ling Ma's Severance is both a compelling read and a thought-provoking satire of the routines that govern the "lives of quiet desperation" at its center.
