Borrow this from a library if you can, skim it for what applies and ignore the rest. I liked the authors‘ attitude but recognize that some things won‘t work everywhere. For example, in a lot of places in America, you just can‘t reliably get to work without a car. I‘m lucky to use the bus but it‘s not possible in so many places! I appreciated other ideas though and am glad I borrowed this.

“A life liberally strewn with satisfying mini-challenges” Haven‘t finished this yet but so far so good! I like the authors‘ attitude and approach!

Smrloomis Also this gem: “Most people love the feeling of getting something new, but forget it can come as easily from discovery as from consumption.” 2w

I can only say nice things about this book. I really enjoyed reading it and loved reading about the authors little valley over the seasons. The one thing that really stood out is when she said you do no need to love yourself to be worthy of love. So often we are told that unless we love ourself then we can not be loved….this isn‘t correct…maybe it‘s through others love we can heal and learn to love ourselves.

LeeRHarry I love her YouTube channel and this sounds delightful 😊 3mo
Darklunarose @LeeRHarry until I posted about this book last week I never knew she had one. I‘m going to need to find some time to check it out. I do love the cottagecore aesthetic 3mo

I was so hoping I would enjoy this, but we are a neurodivergent family and I couldn‘t even get past the forward. Which is ok. This book will be beneficial for others, but I find it hard to continue a book once rubbed the wrong way.

Bookwomble So disappointing when an author is insensitive/ignorant 😕 4mo
Darklunarose @Bookwomble most likely just completely unaware of how essential tech is (yes even at the dinner table) of ND families. I get enough judgement looks when we eat out, I‘m not gonna read them too. Even I use my phone to stim and focus when out and about. And my iPad when focusing on a movie. 4mo

Clare-Dragonfly I know what you mean about it being hard to continue a book when it‘s rubbed you the wrong way. 😕 4mo

This was interesting. I think that I am already at a “medium chill” stage (pretty much happy with the status quo), and some people are like that, but it‘s not something that the author feels will really take off with most people. The author initially talks about how Western society became so materialistic... cont in comments...

LibraryCin describes different ways of changing this and whether or not these ways will take off (including the medium chill), then talks more about experientialism, as he feels this is the most likely that people will move to. 11mo
