I wanted so much to love this book because it is about rescue dogs. Some parts had me tearing up, but the book felt a little static for me.

The history of dinosaurs, wrapped up with the history of paleontology, from the Bone Wars to the asteroid/comet debate and everything in between, plus how new advances in technology, computer imaging, and statistics are helping unravel even more mysteries as we understand with increasing clarity more about these behemoths of history that have always fascinated our imagination.

Geeklet I love this book so much!!! If you‘re still feeling a need to read about dinosaurs, I highly suggest the tagged book. I think Dr. Benton has worked with Dr. Brusatte. (edited) 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Geeklet I just looked at your posts for that book, definitely stacking...and I now know to get it in print too, those pictures are great! 4mo
Gezemice Good book, just finished, trying to think what to write... great review! 4mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice It‘s a tough one to review, without telling all the great parts or going over the character limit. 4mo
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa well I have listened on audio and kept confusing the different sauruses. I need to look through the print. Did you read? 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Nope, I listened on audiobook... but if I find it in print on sale in the future I‘ll definitely be picking it up to add to my collection. 4mo
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I have it from the library but keep getting distracted with new releases! 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice My library didn‘t have it, so I was happy when it showed up in an audible sale. 4mo
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I found it on Hoopla! 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Well I‘ll have to check it out there and at least flip through to see the pictures...well, once October flips over and I have borrows again. 😬😂 4mo
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa the audiobook I mean. I did not find the ebook on there 4mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice oh, okay. I understand now. 4mo

This is an enjoyable yet morbidly engrossing read. It's simple with brief facts, just enough to give you the heebie-jeebies!

If you like bizarre true-crime stories, this one is the right one. You will be drag down to the feather underground, exploring the fly-tie art. Boring? Not at all! Author has successfully combined his personal story with natural history, humans nature - obsession with the birds (well, obsession with the feathers) into the very coherent and readable story.

RachelO Sounds fun and strange 🤔 11mo
Simona @RachelO The guy stole 299 bird skins from British Museum of Natural History, sold them and he is totally remorseless ... 11mo
wordzie So 😎 ❤🐦 11mo

This is a reread, but a worthy one. Her description of working in a vet clinic was dead on! (I have had both of the above experiences in my 15 years of working with vets and being one.) The rest of the book is funny a heck, too! 4⭐️

I just needed something fun because I have a much hated medical procedure tomorrow! 👎🏻

Carolyn11215 I just got this from the library!! 11mo
Megabooks @Carolyn11215 I hope you enjoy it!! 11mo
mom2bugnbee @Megabooks I'm a vet as well, though currently in teaching rather than practice. But I will definitely need to check this out. My best story was the woman who asked me with complete seriousness if other dogs would laugh at her dog if he was neutered. Only time I've ever had to put someone on hold to laugh. I'm just thankful it was over the phone & not in person! 11mo

Hooked_on_books I loved this book 11mo
Megabooks @mom2bugnbee that‘s a good one! I got a late night “emergency” call once where the guy just wanted me to say vulva several times. 🤦🏻‍♀️😝 Nice to find another vet on here! (edited) 11mo
Megabooks @Hooked_on_books it‘s really good! 11mo
mom2bugnbee @Megabooks OMG that's just creepy. 😳 11mo
Megabooks @mom2bugnbee Yeah! It was one of those where he a) didn‘t have a dog, b) he did, but it was fine, c) he balked at our 151$ emergency fee, which was pretty on par with everyone else d) he was piss drunk and would probably be arrested for a DUI! 🤪 I hated being on emergency! 11mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I hope all goes well today! 11mo
Megabooks @Riveted_Reader_Melissa It did! Thank you! 11mo
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Megabooks You are very welcome!! 11mo
