April‘s #DoubleSpin is clear—and is also my #44 pick for #50x50. For my #BookSpin, I get to pick a book published in the 1950s—70s for #192025. Above are the three I‘m thinking about… any recommendations?
The ego is the source a lot of anger, heartache and anxiety for many of us. Definitely a new age, philosophy take on how to let things go so that your ego doesn‘t consume your life. Some good parenting tips, but it was repetitive in its advice and anecdotes.
This is another one of those woo woo past lives books, so I don‘t have much to say about it that can‘t be found in another Michael Newton style book. I do find the whole topic rather fascinating. I think it‘s one of few theories or phenomena that adequately address why you are you right now having this experience and not someone else in a different body having a different experience in a different time and place. For me, it‘s a central mystery.
*Not the tagged book* Conscious Aging is a two-part recorded session featuring Ram Dass delivering a talk at the Omega Institute. At the time of the recording, Ram Dass was 60 years old. He begins the teaching by sharing humorous and relatable stories about aging, allowing him to laugh at himself while simultaneously offering a profound spiritual application for the listeners.
