I missed that we were doing #FridayNightShare again! For yesterday‘s #SpringNonFiction prompt, I‘m choosing the book. I think of spring as a time to clean & freshen up. I have had this book on my shelves for ages & still use many of her green cleaning tips & recipes including her Lavender-Lemon Disinfecting Spirits Spray & her essential oil combo list. 💚🌱🪻🍋💛
pickAs funny as Bill Bryson, as sincere as Barbara Kingsolver, and with goat-hijinks- anyone who wants the human race to survive with enough food for all of us should read this book. I read so many parts out loud to my patient husband, because they were too funny not to share! And if that doesn‘t convince you to pick it up, there are recipes.
pickIt's the third or fourth one I've read by David Bach recently. Tips on going green and saving money. I already do things like recycle paper and plastic, and upgraded the house 🏠 windows for less leaking. I drive a smaller car that gets decent gas mileage, but will try to do better next time (in a few years). Of course, during the pandemic I'm driving significantly less, so saving $. Will check out the green investments. 4 ⭐s
Read things you're sure will disagree with your current thinking. If you're a die-hard anti-animal person, read Meat. If you're a die-hard global warming advocate, read Glenn Beck. If you're a Rush Limbaugh fan, read James W. Loewen's Lies My Teachers Told Me. It'll do your mind good and get your heart rate up.
pickHeads up!!! If you get this book as an audiobook, it‘s narrated by Joel himself!! This is fantastic because it feels like your having a conversation with an old friend as he blows your mind with rightful outrage over the American food system. Then he leaves you wanting to hunt down every local farmer just to shake their hand. (& support by buying their local food as much as possible)
