1. The Amityville Horror, Pet Semetary. Still can‘t read either at night.

2. The Conjuring, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

3. Body horror, torture and mutilation, bugs, buried alive, eaten alive, drowning, very tight spaces, attacks from unseen entities, I could probably think of more.

#TerrifyingTuesday

WildAlaskaBibliophile Yes, all of those things are terrifying! I especially can't stand torture/torture porn and animal cruelty. 14mo
JessClark78 @WildAlaskaBibliophile Animal cruelty is my big trigger. I read and watch a lot of horror so I‘m on DoesTheDogDie.com quite often. 14mo
WildAlaskaBibliophile @JessClark78 same! My husband takes note of the timestamp and when it's time I cover my ears and close my eyes, or leave the room. That website is a godsend! 14mo

#TerrifyingTuesday @WildAlaskaBibliophile

1. I remember feeling pretty creeped out while reading tagged.
2. Threads - 1984 film (TV movie) about the effects of a nuclear holocaust. Just watched it for the first time last year. Really good, but absolutely terrifying. See comments below for link to trailer.
3. Real life/true crime, I guess. People are scary!

TheKidUpstairs I still double check all my locks, doors, and windows before bed because of this book! 1y
WildAlaskaBibliophile Thank you for playing along @jlhammar! I'm adding both the movie & book to my TB lists! 1y

Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView ! 😊

1. The tagged book by Hari Kunzru completely creeped me out. Also Shirley Jackson‘s The Haunting of Hill House.

2. Maybe Jaws or the Shining?

3. In a movie-jump scares! I do jump! 😂

#TerrifyingTuesday 😱

WildAlaskaBibliophile I haven't heard of White Tears. I'll check it out!

Thanks for playing along, @ruthiella! 🦈

1️⃣ Can't think of one.
2️⃣ Jaws
3️⃣ I don't read horror because I would not be able to sleep for a week. So not sure what the answer is for me.

Want to play? @Gissy @Ruthiella

1. The tagged
2. The Ritual
3. Psychological horror vs. gore
#TerrifyingTuesday @WildAlaskaBibliophile

WildAlaskaBibliophile I don't think I ever read that book. And I haven't seen The Ritual. I will have to put both on my TB lists. Thanks, @AmandaBlaze! 1y

@WildAlaskaBibliophile

1. I would have to say THE SHINING by S. King. I thought it was way scarier than the movie.
2. Without a doubt, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS because serial killers are all too real.
3. What scares me the most is the idea of realness; if it can really happen in the real world, to me that's the scariest plot device of all. The tv show CRIMINAL MINDS is one example.
Wanna play? @Eggs @TheSpineView @IndoorDame

TheSpineView Thanks for the tag!🧡🏷 1y
WildAlaskaBibliophile I haven't read The Shining, but I have watched it. I'll definitely have to put it on my TBR list!
It's been a long time since I've watched The Silence of the Lamps, but it is definitely terrifying and is a movie I've been wanting to rewatch for some time now.

Thank you @WildAlaskaBibliophile for creating this play~tag~share card.

1 - years ago I was reading (not sure about the name of the book) a story about a rat living in the walls of a guy's house. I was walking down our hallway when there was a scratching at our attic door...made me jump because obviously it was the giant devil rat trying to get me LOL.

2 - my older brother used to terrify me with Freddy Krueger.

3 - the absence of hope.

WildAlaskaBibliophile Oooo, that would be spooky! Have you watched the movie and/or read the book The House with a Clock in Its Walls? I recommend! There is another film I'm thinking of in which a lady believes a house is haunted but it's a man living in her wall. I think it's a film and not a real story, but now I'm second guessing myself!

My brother terrified me with Krueger too. Still a big NOPE for me!

Thanks for playing, @AnnCrystal!

This is going to sound cliché bad of me as a book lover...The House with a Clock in Its Walls was a book? Love that movie 🎉👏. Now I will definitely be on the lookout for the book 👍.

I've seen a few of stories about man living in the walls...always terrifying! Always...

👏😂👍 they had made a Krueger TV series too. My toddler self would aways abandon whatever I was doing and run for mom or dad each and every week LOL.

2. The Descent
3. For movies, good, creepy music!

#terrifyingtuesday @WildAlaskaBibliophile

WildAlaskaBibliophile Terrifying because a child lived through that horror. Have you read the rest of his books?
That movie gave me the heebie jeebies!

Happy Tuesday! Here are some terrifying questions for #TerrifyingTuesday

1. “A Head Full of Ghosts“ by Paul Tremblay
2. Poltergeist (watched it when I was a school-aged child)
3. Stuff that taps into the human psyche and uses it to prey on characters
