Why yes! Yes I did!
This is the perfect island tune for my bookish island!
#BeyondTheSea #BobbyDarin #SomewhereBeyondTheSea #TJKlune #AnimalCrossing #NewHorizons #ACNH #IslandTune #BookishIsland

GingerAntics Why yes, I do have a cute little bookish island in the cerulean sea… and I do, in fact, wish I were there. 1mo
Traci1 Every few months I google to see if there's any update on a new AC game coming in the nearish future. I'm always disappointed. 1mo
GingerAntics @Traci1 I think they‘re all in on new horizons. They did a 2.0 update. I think they‘re just updating this one. They‘ve come up with some great story lines in this one, though. Just this morning I got the ability to literally change the island. I can build cliffs, move the rivers or get rid of them entirely. It‘s fun! 1mo

GingerAntics @Traci1 I just heard some interesting news that Nintendo seems to be doing a final push with New Horizons before releasing a new came in the franchise next year. Fingers crossed. I‘m trying to figure out what the next thing to do with New Horizons might be (though, admittedly I‘ve only been playing it off and on for about a year, so I‘ve spent way less time with it than a lot of other people). 1mo
GingerAntics @Traci1 I literally just finished “plan K” yesterday (Monday), and then it ran the credits, so I‘m kind of wondering if that was the end of the official story line? I dunno. Now I have to find this dude to open a cafe in the bleeding museum. No clue, anymore. I wouldn‘t mind a new game either. 1mo
Traci1 Oh, the Cafe is great. I love Brewster. The credits are sort of the end of the beginning. It basically opens up the ability to do everything in the game. If you have the Happy Home Paradise DLC, there's more to do there as well. 1mo
GingerAntics @Traci1 I was debating the DLC. I didn‘t know until I went digging that they haven‘t updated ACNH since 2022… I didn‘t even start playing it until then. 4w
GingerAntics @Traci1 so the big announcement was that pocket camp is become pocket camp complete. So now there is an entire game on your phone. Still no further update for NH and no way to play PCC on switch, so that kind of sucks. I‘m not sure I want to play a complete game on AC on my phone. 3w
Traci1 I downloaded pc to my phone because there were a few items that you'd be able to buy from the abd machine in resident services if you did (like a campsite sign which is adorable), but i never played it. I think a new AC won't be brought out until the next nintendo console comes out. I'm just hoping that it does eventually happen. 3w
GingerAntics @Traci1 I‘m kind of hoping they‘re not going to wait that long. Nintendo has invested way too much into the switch, and moving to something else (not just an improvement on the switch) would really piss people off. It‘s not like they have really finished ACNH. It‘s kind of annoying that they are doing PCC and there is still a bunch just hanging there in NH. It‘s actually kind of annoying. I dunno. 3w
GingerAntics @Traci1 I played PC for a while. I didn‘t have a switch at the time, so I never knew about that small connection. Now they‘re wanting to change $20 for an app, another $25 for the DLC. NH was like $50 or $60. It‘s like they don‘t care about the game itself anymore. I dunno. Maybe it‘s just me. I‘ve considered picking up PC again, but I‘m leaning towards not going to, because the whole social aspect is being removed, so I don‘t see the point. 3w

Finally starting this book alongside The Gentleman in Moscow. Not gonna lie, this one started off unexpectedly slow for me, but Klune's writings is still beautiful as always 🙂
So in love with this Waterstone special edition! My first signed book by Klune, one of my favorite authors! 🥺

Pickpick

Four short stories from the world of TJ Klune‘s Tales of Verania series. I haven‘t read it, but I sure want to after reading this. This is definitely for adults. There is plenty of swearing and it gets a bit spicy in places. If you‘ve read anything by Sarah J. Maas, Rebecca Yarros, or Alexis Hall you‘ll be fine with this. This is not at all what I was expecting from TJ Klune, honestly. This is no Cerulean Sea. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻

GingerAntics I laughed through the entire first story. Ru Paul could have also narrated that one and it would have been equally brilliant. The second story echoed a single line from The House in the Cerulean Sea, that was pretty cute. The third story referenced TBBT (obscurely) and then Home Alone. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 2mo
GingerAntics I couldn‘t help laughing when I got to those parts. The fourth (last) story is my absolute favourite, and it‘s also the only story that exists within the canon of the original series. #TJKlune #FairytalesFromVerania #shortstories #spicy 🌶️ #snarky #sweet 2mo

As a book with a 4.5 rating, with THIS as the only written review… on top of what I know about TJ Klune‘s beautiful writing, 😂🤣😂 oh my god I can‘t wait to read this!
(*I think Karen means INappropriate foul language… can‘t wait to hear it!)

Texreader I sadly object to the stereotypes of Karens. Karens of the world need to unite… ☺️ 2mo
GingerAntics @Texreader that is fair. I feel so bad for the nice, lovely Karens in the world. 2mo
julesG TJ Klune's Wolfsong series gets quite graphic. Obscene? Not sure, I have a high tolerance threshold. Some people, expecting closed door romance and flowery prose, might be offended. 2mo

julesG Klune excels at both. Read the book and tell us your verdict 2mo
TrishB Inappropriate to whom? How do people get to judge that for other people. 2mo
GingerAntics @TrishB inappropriate to someone who expects that Klune can only do Cerulean Sea. There is a lot of swearing, but I didn‘t find it “inappropriate.” It‘s got some spice, but less than Sarah J. Maas or Rebecca Yarros. The final story is the only story that is canonical to the accompanying series, and it had none of that, but was actually quite sweet. 2mo
GingerAntics @TrishB I laughed through the entire first story. Michael Lesley did an amazing job narrating, but it could have been narrated by Ru Paul to similar effect. That was probably also the most “crass” of the stories. It was almost like shock and awe comedy to really kick things off. 😂 2mo
GingerAntics @julesG I may have to read the Wolfsong series. I‘m also thinking I‘m going to have to read the series this is a spin off of. The one story that was canonical to that series was so beautiful and wonderful, it‘s made me want to read more. 2mo
vlwelser Ooooh! Appropriate foul language! Sounds interesting. 2mo

But, given their track record, even given a chance, WILL they learn anything? Of all the chances they have has thus far, HAVE they learned anything? Part of me wants to tell Lucy to have at it! If the “anti-Christ” can want to change people‘s minds so they will be more accepting of others, that‘s probably pointing at a problem with people never learning from their own pasts than a need to be given a chance to learn something new. Just saying.
