Hamlet Globe to Globe | Dominic Dromgoole
post image

A little Sunday night Shakespeare for the soul. Not quite halfway through the tagged book yet, and still making up my mind about it, but there's no doubt that the project it chronicles - a two-year, worldwide tour performing Hamlet in every country on earth- is grand, audacious, and worth learning more about. #CurrentlyReading

Cheryl Strayed‘s Wild meets Diana Melmuth‘s The Witching Year in this messy but endearingly earnest travel memoir. While grieving her father, writer Signe Pike rambles primarily across England, Ireland, and Scotland, seeking out stories and first-hand accounts of faeries, visiting faery landmarks and sacred places, and reckoning with a devoted but angry father she loved but never understood. Slow and not fully satisfying, but worth the read!

Current reads. 21 days left until I go back to work. Soaking up as much summertime as each day can hold! #teachersoflitsy

Slow summer mornings unwind with coffee and reading on the back patio. I am loving this travel memoir! Anyone travel alone? Where did you go?

Last summer I tagged along with my husband on a business trip. During the day, I was on my own in Austin, Texas. It was a great time!

5 stars!! Makes me want to jump in a camper (with a bathroom) and start touring the United States! Doreen might be my travel spirit animal! My first finish of of February but not a bookspin :(. #bookspinbingo

ImperfectCJ Sounds like a fun memoir! I've been wanting to do this since 2011, and my spouse is finally talking like he might seriously be considering it for after both kids move out, so I'm trying to get as many takes on the experience as I can! 2y

Read this one decades ago while on a holiday on the Gold Coast. I remember it giving me serious itchy feet for travel. I also remember getting through lots of books that holiday by the water.

We are on #LetterQ already! I read this book several years ago. It‘s got the longest title ever! It‘s very funny. Ironically, I had just met an American couple on a trip to Ireland that lived this way which made it even more amusing. #AlphabetGame @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

A good but not great book about a woman‘s experiences in Bhutan. #ReadingAsia2021

Memoirs and travelogues are not my thing. However, I really enjoyed this look at the religion, government, and daily life of the people of Bhutan. I would have preferred a little less of Lisa‘s personal history/backstory, and I‘ll put a CW in the comments, but overall I‘d definitely recommend this for #readingasia2021 #bhutan

DGRachel CW for rape - the author briefly described an incident that happened before she married and before she went to Bhutan. It comes out of nowhere, though, and its impact on her life pops up periodically. 3y
Librarybelle I like travelogues and books like this…stacking! 😁 3y
