There are gorgeous illustrations in this book about Ambedkar, the Dalit activist who deserved to be better known outside India.

‘What does it mean to be an untouchable?‘ This stunning graphic book narrates events that shaped Ambedkar into a revolutionary, and current incidents to show casteism is alive and kicking. A pragmatic tone backed by facts and fabulous art, it urges us to open our eyes and mind to this aspect of India. #GraphicNovel #Booked2019 #FirstAcknowledge #ThenDebate #EssentialReading #WhyDidWeNotLearnInSchool #LateEnlightenment #MoreThanFatherOfConstitution
I'm undecided.
I liked the fact that there was a true philosophical tone to this... however, he did seem to have a lot of extremely good fortune throughout. Maybe I'm too cynical!
Still think it's an awesome cover 😊😉
Hoping this really is an amazing story!

This is one off my Mum‘s bookshelf so I haven‘t read it....
It‘s funny how it doesn‘t seem to have a ‘proper‘ title, just a very long subtitle...
It was definately a unique story...it felt like the author was a bit torn in how to write it. The focus was on PK's life mostly and it seems as though the love story is told more as an afterthought. It would have been interesting to share more about Lotta's point of view.
I had high hopes for this true story about a Dalit man who made his way to Sweden to find the woman he loved. But this is incredibly heavy on PK‘s back story and not so much on the real life love story or journey. Maybe if I‘d had different expectations, I‘d have enjoyed it more. Another cute cross cultural love story 😍
Time to get back to making a dent in my LibraryThing Early Reviewer Books. Plus my husband is asleep in the bedroom where all of my partially read books are. (He just arrived home on the red eye an hour or so ago so I hate to rummage in there and possibly wake him up.)
His mother was not scared of the dead. She believed the best way to keep malicious spirits at bay was to show confidence , which she considered herself to possess. Only self doubt would put you within reach of death's grip.
'As long as your are brave, no one can hurt you, not even dead.' She would say.
