How has no one reviewed this book? I couldn‘t put this one down, the narrator speaking in beautifully written descriptions of his trip to Venice. Upon marrying an ultra rich woman in 1900 London, they take a belated honeymoon to Venice, where she promptly disappears. And he immediately falls under the spell of another woman. Kept me wondering right up until the end, who were all these characters? The ending was slightly meh, so a soft pick.

Ruthiella Sounds good! 👍 3w
Lesliereadsalot @Ruthiella A good story, terrific narrator and interesting characters. It did keep me guessing all the way to the end! 3w

So good, travel through Venetian history and Murano glassmaking with Orsola and her familia. If you are going to Venice or have been there you need to read this. Gives a whole other meaning to the history of glassmaking sold in Venice. Loved this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A very good installment in Brunetti mystery series set in Venice, in which the Commissario investigates deaths in a nursing home. The author explores the role of the church and the power it wields.

#majicmonday Thanks for the tag @Eggs ! This was fun to look up. Venice (5,700 miles) narrowly beat Trondheim, Norway (5,400 miles). Inset photo is looking back at Venice from our boat on the way to Marco Polo Airport.

We have some mighty world travelers on litsy. I can‘t wait to hear from @wanderinglynn @Cuilin @BarbaraBB @julesG @Teresereading

TheBookHippie Omg it‘s Hawaii for me 4,438 miles … not places in Europe that are 3800 & 3900!! 3mo
julesG I think Bali was the farthest so far, roughly 7400 miles, as the crow flies. 3mo
Eggs Excellent 👌🏼 Thanks for joining in 🙏🏻 3mo
BiblioLitten Interesting! For me it would be 6737 miles (Western Canada-South India) 3mo
wanderinglynn Guam 🇬🇺 - it‘s about 8,000 miles from DC. 2mo

Yesterday started out gloomy and then the wind picked up and washed it away. Today is a perfect fall day.

I love Vivaldi‘s Four Seasons and learned he wrote sonnets for each season at a candlelight performance a couple of years ago.

Here is Autumn: https://youtu.be/UIdwCrfDNjU?si=QrP8lmLBVBdn3b_B.

Along with Van Gogh‘s Harvest at La Crau with Montmajour in the Background.

Sunday afternoon coffee & a book. It‘s beautiful on the porch-quite the juxtaposition of summer & autumn. Blue cloudless sky, 81 degrees but no humidity, the leaves on the trees turning.Loving this peaceful time. #beautybreak #75Soft
