Gotta say, I liked this one a sight more than ‘Triptych‘. I‘m still not a big fan of Angie‘s but, I‘m willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for now.

This may be my favorite installment. I also appreciated her subtle plug of Uncle Nearest.

My last #serieslove2024 this Slaughter particularly filled with horrible people doing horrible things . But I liked it! Bad reading year for me, I usually read 90-100 books , I even missed my abbreviated Goodreads goal of 75 . 😞Still, Litsy & reading gives me joy, I‘ll be sticking with that in the new year, less focused on goals. #OutWithTheOldInWithTheNew #20in4

I almost gave up on this book in the first 30%
But I'm happy I stuck to it.

I'm a big slaughter fan, in fact I re-read the entire Grant County and Will Trent series before I picked up this one. So there wasn't a year gap of me trying to patiently wait for the next book. And I think that makes a difference.
I was in this Slaughter flow and this book just wasn't what I expected to be next in the flow

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ book 2 of the Will Trent series was pretty much episode 1 of the show, so a few spoilers for me. (I‘ve stopped watching the show to prevent this moving forward 😁) but I love Will!!! Sometimes my heart breaks for him.

#serieslove2024 Will Trent is deep undercover in Macon,keeping all secret from Sara. A case of trying to take down a criminal boss that little is known about. Sara comes to Macon after her stepson gets shot, she gets caught up in the same case. Will the lies break the relationship? Full of Slaughters very evil criminals hunted by flawed but diligent agents & cops.

This is another book that stuck with me ever since I've read it. Slaughter's brilliance and the killer in this book just totally took residence in a part of my brain and won't go.

But listening to this whilst knowing who the guilty party was just hit differently. I mean, the way Slaughter set it up so perfectly. Actually I've been listening to this whole series differently, and I'm so amazed at the little clues I've picked up this time around.
