I love Emma Lord‘s books, she‘s definitely an auto read for me. And the fun thing is now my 16 year old loves them too, so we can share. This one was an also set in New York City, poignant and meaningful and a mixture of happy and sad. Probably not my most favorite of hers but still a really great read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lord is quickly becoming an auto-read author for me. This is such a sweet YA Romance with well-written characters who grow as a result of the conflict. Andy's internal struggles remind me so much of my own. I feel seen. I love how the title was woven into the story.

🩷 a great one!! Beautiful development along with healthy thinking! Emma Lord has done her own internal work & you can tell from the characters‘ deep (and relatable) reflections. I just wish there was a little growth outside the grief, but in my mind she gets there next year 😉 Also MILO AND HIS FAMILY > 🥰

I wanted a little more from this one. It fell kind of flat for me.
I've come to a realization that, during the school year, I only have enough brain capacity to read young adult books. Not that they don't have literary merit, but they tend to be more fast-paced and hold my attention when I'm over-stimulated in every other sense. That said, I'm going to the library for a big YA haul tomorrow. What should I pick up?

Riley and Tom, recent high school grads and former best friends reconnect and learn that, “Home has never been a place, but a feeling.“ This book is for anyone who has ever felt like they need to get away, or is searching for a place to belong.

Rebelling against a restrictive and rigid faith, mad support for the LGBTQ+, a girl inspired by art, and a literal musical triumph over the high school alt-right? What's not to love?! Sure, Hope's mom's turnaround in perspective felt a little too good to be true, and OK, I skipped most of the sci-fi story-within-a-story, but overall, so enjoyable. I can never resist self-discovery, good friends, and great music. #BooksAndBlooms

I‘m slowly working my way through my library‘s supply of Anne of Green Gables retellings. In this one, the parallels were not quite as clear for all of the characters but I still ended up enjoying it. Chipper approves. 👍🏻 3.5⭐️
