Okay, seriously?! I want to be her when I grow up. She doesn‘t take any crap, and she protects her people. So freaking good.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Yesterday I wrapped up the first book & said I wasn‘t sure if I was going to continue with this series (not because I didn‘t like it but because there are so many books out there to read). A few of you chimed in and said to read the next two. Well, I‘m glad I listened. 😊 Book 2 was really good & was action packed. Interested to see where book 3 takes things. I do think I‘m going to take a short break before continuing though.
This second book in the Stillhouse Lake series was a fast, anxious and sometimes gruesome ride as Gwen tries to finally save her family from a monster. That monster is her ex-husband, who has a vast network of people assisting him. There are a few twists that I didn‘t see coming. This is a solid thriller, and was very entertaining. The next book in the series comes out in April, and I‘ll definitely read it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Whew! This sequel to Stillhouse Lake was creepy as f**k. I always know when I'm anxious about what's about to happen when my eyes can't help but flick ahead as I read. I felt like I was waiting for the bogeyman to show up 😱
Before I moved to NYC, I'd come up to visit and stay with my uncle who lives a few blocks from Lincoln Center, so it became a spot that I enjoyed coming to read and people watch with tea and pan au chocolate while on vacation. Now I've lived here for about 4 years and it's still a spot I enjoy stopping to pull out a book when I'm in the area 😄 (and I'm LIVING for these pockets of warmish weather that tell me spring is around the corner 😆)
Settling in with my current favorite beer and my book. 🍺📚 Another page turner! Good thing, because I have to get in 7 hours of reading before Sunday night to meet my Bookly monthly reading goal. 😬 #readinggoals #31hoursin31days
I really enjoyed Stillhouse Lake and it‘s intensity. I felt like I couldn‘t put it down. Killman Creek is a little bit different in that i feel like i have to push myself to read. I feel like I‘m not as invested and maybe it‘s because it‘s written differently? Stillhouse is from the perspective of Gwen Proctor only and this is told from many points of view. Gonna try to finish anyway 😎
Oh man! I flew through this one. I had such a fun time with Stillhouse Lake, and I think this one was even better. The alternating points of view really up the tension and I found this book hard to put down. April can‘t come soon enough, I wonder what Caine has in store for us.
This was a good follow up to Stillhouse Lake, I stayed up late to finish this one and here‘s to hoping I don‘t have any bad dreams tonight! I really enjoyed this one, and was pleased how it all wrapped up. I thought the author did a great job here with everything. It drug a little for me with the Connor / Brady storyline, but I understand what she was trying to do with it. Overall I am loving this series, and I can‘t wait for the third next year!
I think this was better than the first in the series, Stillhouse Lake. This time she wrote from different POV's. I wonder, though, what the next book will entail. Seems like everything got wrapped up in this one.
The psychological twists in this second book of the Stillhouse Lake series are great. The book was very suspenseful. I couldn't put it down. I am looking forward to the third book next year. I am attached to Rachel Caine's characters as usual.
I listened to the audio version of this book and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole way through! I enjoyed this sequel more than the first book....maybe, because there is so much action and cringeworthy moments where you say out loud,
“Don‘t do it!”
I was surprised at the ending, and left wondering where in the world 🌎 the third book of this series is going to take me.
Hoo boy. This book was nuts. The first book in this series was just okay for me until the last third of it. This book is so much better- I‘m glad I stuck with this series. There‘s is a third book coming out next year- I‘m curious, based on the ending of this one, as to where this series goes next. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent sequel. The author included chapters with different POVs than Gwen‘s and I liked that. The other characters were more developed as a result but the suspense was just as strong as the first book.
I started reading book 2 of the Stillhouse Lake series last night and, like book 1, I couldn't stop! I made almost halfway through the book before my kindle died and I was forced to sleep. SO. GOOD.
Loved it! I am happy I stuck with it!
I loved the first book in this series and if I‘m being completely honest that made me nervous about this one. Could the second one be as gripping as the first? I‘m hear to tell you, yes. Yes it can. I devoured this book and couldn‘t read it fast enough!
You may notice that this review comes on the heels of my review of book 1 in this series.
I couldn't stop to go on Litsy, had to know what was going to happen next. The 2nd book is told from the perspective of several of the characters, rather than just the MC of book 1, so the feeling is quite a bit different, but the tension is still well developed.
The only bad part of this book is that the next book doesn't come out until December!
This wasn‘t my planned #nextread but this kindle deal was too good to pass up! $2.99 and $1.99 for audible narration! I loved the first one so I‘m anxious to get into this one!!
Literally devoured this in 2 days 😍 Loved, Loved, Loved this sequel! The main character, Gwen, is so kickass but also so real at the same time, she has flaws just like everyone else and it made her so much more relatable 👌🏼
Definitely recommend to those who love a good thriller!

This has been in my library since it was released in December last year. I‘m cracking it open tonight 🤩
This book was so good! This is the second book in the Stillhouse Lake series and it didn‘t disappoint. It kept me reading and wanting more. There was plot twist after plot twist and they were shocking at times. I feel like this isn‘t the end of the story and I am ready for more!
This is a solid follow-up to Stillhouse Lake. It follows Gwen as she attempts to hunt down her serial killer ex, while delving deeper into the dark web. At times, the story was nerveracking and made me feel all kinds of anxiety & frustration for the characters plights (not in a bad way). I can't wait to see what Rachel Caine does next with this series.
