“Better drive like the fucking wind, boy.”
A pumpkin themed drink and a pumpkin themed book.
I‘ve been in a huuuge reading slump (like, 7 months) mainly because I‘ve been binging shows left and right. But it led me to two of my ultimate favorite shows now, Gilmore Girls and Brooklyn Nine Nine (it‘s safe to say I‘m in love with Andy Samberg).
So hopefully I‘ll get over my slump a little with this graphic novel!
What are you guys watching these days?
Got my Owlcrate April box!! Gotta say I‘m most excited about the Six of Crows socks.
Been in a bit of a reading slump these past couple of months, but today‘s my birthday so I got myself a Clare and a Stiefvater book, and my friends got me the Chaos Walking trilogy and a canvas bookmark with my name stitched on it! I‘ve heard little about this series, is it good?
On the darkest days you have to search for a spot of brightness, on the coldest days you have to seek out a spot of warmth; on the bleakest days you have to keep your eyes onward and upward and on the saddest days you have to leave them open to let them cry. To then let them dry. To give them a chance to wash out the pain in order to see fresh and clear once again.
Idk why SJM made Feyre & Rhys such hypocrites. They want to meddle in everyone‘s lives, control how they behave. They want them to be happy, sure, but it has to be their way or else it‘s the wrong way. After my first read, I only noticed how badly they treated Nesta and Tamlin. Now I also see Lucien and Elain weren‘t spared from their judgmental remarks. Rhys even thought he “has” do something about Cassian and Nesta.
Hope they redeem themselves.
CALL DOWN THE HAWK from the air;
Let him be hooded or caged
Till the yellow eye has grown mild,
For larder and spit are bare,
The old cook enraged,
The scullion gone wild. | coming November 5, 2019

Oh my god!! 🤩🤩
Need a little pick-me-up so I decided to reread this series. It‘s my third time reading it since I first read it last Christmas. Can you tell I really, really like these books?
I wanna say I have a love/hate relationship with this series, but that‘s not true. Though it made me feel sad and melancholic and nostalgic about school and all those cherished memories, all the friendships lost because we grew up and apart, all the friendships gained and still growing stronger even after everyone went their own way in life, all the what-ifs and the could-have-beens - all these feelings made me love it too.
Went to the bookstore today...
The rest is obvious.
An enjoyable read. I didn‘t like the writing much, or rather there was some things I found were not thought out well. Like when Emika was in the karaoke room and sneaked out and suddenly she had her skateboard with her 🤔. And I don‘t know what to think about the ending! My guess on who Zero was was right, but I don‘t know why that other plot twist made me feel uncomfortable and disappointed. Will probably read book 2, but not anytime soon.
1. I don‘t like Paulo Coelho‘s books. I read 2 of them and just didn‘t get into them.
2. Salty. I‘m not much of a sweets kinda person.
3. Fouad and Rose on my mum‘s side, Hanna and Takla on my dad‘s. They all passed away long before I was born, except for Rose, who passed away six years ago.
4. All Disney movies 😅. Maybe High School Musical was my most favorite.
5. Paris. Or Seoul.
It‘s 2AM here, and I just finished reading this book. I have to say I liked it so much more than the first time I read it. Black‘s writing, Jude‘s character development, ALL the complex characters, they‘re so interesting regardless of the actual plot of the story. I really want to start The Wicked King now, but I also really want to sleep 🤦🏻♀️.
Sleep is winning.
Homemade sushi and a book👌🏻.
It‘s lovely to get to know you all a little more!
After almost 3 hours! My back and feet hurt but it‘s all good 😂. I ended up not moving the non fiction and a lot of the classics to my room because they couldn‘t fit anywhere 😅.
Where do I even begin?!
#notbookrelated but I was cleaning out stuff from my bedroom to make space for a new bookcase (yey!) and I found these!! You can tell by the state of the one on the right how many hours my sisters and I spent on these things.
These covers are so beautiful.
I like Shatter Me. It‘s my first time reading dystopian - I don‘t really like the genre. But the story is interesting, and I really like Mafi‘s writing style, even the first few chapters where everything is erratic and there are scratched sentences everywhere. But I found it helpful to better understand Juliette‘s state of mind in these moments. It‘s what I imagine the mind of a person slowly going insane might be.
All those YA fantasies getting TV shows. 😱
Marc Levy. He has 19 published books - I have read 17 of them. He‘s one of my absolute favorites.
(If you know the movie Just Like Heaven with Marc Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon, that‘s based on one of his books.)
1. Nothing. 😂 I can say I‘ve literally been doing nothing but studying in 2019 so far (or at least trying to).
2. Writing more and continuing taking classes in the Korean language.
3. There‘s a meme that‘s been going around the internet that says “2018 vs 2019” with 2 Steve Carell photos with one that says “I am dead inside” and the other “It‘s Britney bitch”. I‘m working on this being me.
Taking a break from Shadowhunters to read this.
(I should be studying but whatever.)
My favorite of the Shadowhunter books so far. The mystery aspect was a pleasant addition to the story but what I loved most is the relationship between the Blackthorn siblings. Julian is just so precious he deserves the world. And it was interesting to see a Shadowhunter with autism and another with schizophrenia, looking forward to seeing where this goes.
I think City of Heavenly Fire was my favorite of the series. It‘s still not one of the best series I‘ve read, but Clare‘s writing has improved a lot over time and the vast, lovable cast of characters made me attached to the story.
Now onto The Dark Artifices! I already love the characters from what I read of them in Heavenly Fire, so this should be fun.
Is it the new year where you are yet? It is here and I just wanted to wish you all a happy new year! Looking forward to this year here on Litsy! You‘re all amazing 💞.
I‘m starting to like Sebastian? The bad guy who‘s bad not because he wants to but because he has to, and because he doesn‘t know any other way. Too bad there‘s no happy ending for him. (I couldn‘t stop myself from checking what happens to him at the end😅)
