Dan Brown was the first Author to make me fall in love with reading... but Origin took 70 chapters to get anywhere I could consider purposeful 😔

😴 I saw this advertised in a magazine as an empowering book for women, and was so excited to read it! Unfortunately, it‘s a pan from me - I found it a little dull and I didn‘t feel it promoted how strong we are as much as it should 😔

I found this to be over-simplified and repetitive unfortunately... however as a reference point it introduces key words and concepts for future reads.

I read it until the end, but found it slow and predictable 😔 not bad if you‘re looking for an easy read, but it‘s not the thriller I expected.

Loved the little book of Hygge, and Meik‘s second book is just as uplifting and easy to read 😊

So I bailed about 3/4 of the way through this. I think I could have made it to the end, but life is too short... It started off so well - mysterious and gripping, but by half way through I felt it lacked substance and hadn‘t made any progression 😔

After about 5 chapters I've had to bail on this. I love the concept, and maybe it gets better - but life is too short to read books your not enjoying 😔 They do say the original is always the best... 👸🏻

Nikki15 Ah that's a shame this is in my #TBR stack 7y
BellesLibrary @Nikki15 oh no... I think it's just slow to get into and I have no patience! I hope you enjoy it Nikki x 7y
Nikki15 @BellesLibrary I'll probably still give it a go. ❤️ 7y
BellesLibrary @Nikki15 definitely do, I think you can take something away from every book you read 💛 7y

I had high hopes for this book after having to work harder than usual to get a copy, however, I felt it gave the same information quite a few times over! I'll make a wish on the new moon for the next read to be a winner 🌙✨

It was an easy read, but I felt it try's way too hard to be 'cool' 🙄 I wouldn't consider blinking really hard after you've done your make up to make it look 'lived in' a style tip at all, more like madness! 👎🏼

I loved the start of this book - tips for starting conversations and being more confident (which most of us bookworm types can make use of I'm sure). However, I felt it some became rather archaic in its approach to relationships, and It began to stir up unsettling feelings towards how women are still advised to act a certain way... In my opinion, there is not a one size fits all guide to love for every uniquely wonderful human being out there!

Lovely light hearted read 📖 unless your not used to going out in public, it doesn't teach you much you shouldn't already know, but it'll give you a little giggle 😊

The last of my Hay House Basic's... Had this one on pre-order, and as a militant feminist I was waiting in anticipation for its arrival. However, it feels very dated and regimented in its approach to empowering women in my opinion. Oh well, another day, another book tomorrow! ☺️

This Hay House Basic on 'past lives' feels fresh... lots of little vignettes about the different experiences people have had interacting with their past lives, as well as assigning meaning to how you currently go about your life, and ways to aid regression and memory of your past lives. I hope where ever I was before this life, there were books 📚💛

This is another one of the Hay House Basics I've tried, but I wouldn't agree that it was basic at all. I feel like I've studied a degree in astrology, which is great if a world of information is what you want... but not so great for bed time reading 🤔

A fresh and interesting concept to learn about, and a comprehensive introduction to all thing lucid. However, the techniques it teaches felt similar to practices you'll find in many other spiritualist books. 💭✨🌙😴
