Recently, someone asked me who my favorite author is, and instead of giving my longstanding answer, I really thought about my response. Learned something- my favorite author is Erik Larson.

Is it wrong that I am literally laughing out loud while reading this book, an irreverent parody of Jane Eyre? It's probably wrong.

Pumpkin spice chai and a new book. I hadn't heard of this one, and I want to read it before seeing the film.

"I thought I knew a thing about people. Even had my list of universals. But I wondered. Maybe the world wasn't made up of universals that could be summed up in neat little packages. Maybe there were just people. People who were tired and hurt and lonely and kind in their own way and in their own time." - Abilene

Rainy day breakfast. Not sure about this book yet, but it is growing on me, I guess. It's about the mentoring relationship between a young college grad and a 60+ feminist icon.

Rainy day, reading in the parent pick-up line. Arrived early so I could read a little longer. Peekay is a memorable character, always managing to bloom in the harsh, hateful conditions he keeps finding himself.

Ah, a lazy Saturday. Plenty of time for a leisurely lunch and a spooky book. A happy couple moves into a flat, excited to begin their lives together. But the neighbors.... So far it vaguely reminds me of Rosemary's Baby.

revenge4porgy And there‘s the only reason I won‘t read it. I have enough horror in my own life, lol 6y

Book of the week, with old plane ticket and Cracker Jack prize.

I use at least two bookmarks in every book (to track my daily pages), then leave them in the book to give extra life to my library. I also sign and date the last page when I finish a book. What are your book rituals?

CatConstellations Did u see what I texted now today? 6y
BooksBecomeYou Did you text me? If this is about pizza, what time is this thing happening tomorrow? 6y
revenge4porgy When I read, I read under the covers. I also have a journal with me in case I want to steal anything 6y

ErikasMindfulShelf I always write my name, when I got the book and who gave it to me on the front cover. I like the idea of writing the day you finished it on the last page. 6y
BooksBecomeYou @revenge4porgy Great idea to have a journal on hand when you read! I need to do that. 6y

Hi Litsy! Thought my first ever post should be about my favorite book of all time, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, by Betty Smith (even though I didn't read it until this year!). It was one of those books that I had to read more slowly as I got close to finishing it - I didn't want to say goodbye to Francie. So, so good.

WiseGirl13 I have heard a lot about that book! It sounds like a good one! 6y
RaimeyGallant What a nice post. Thanks for telling me about this book. And welcome to Litsy! #LitsyWelcomeWagon Some of us put together Litsy tips to help new Littens navigate the site. It's the link in my bio on my page in case you need it. Or if you prefer how-to videos, @chelleo put some together at the link in her bio. 6y
