GREAT book, never thought a health spa visit could be so, erm, controversial?!
Really got hooked on finding out what would happen to them all, I was shocked then laughed throughout!

Great book!
Took me a while to read, but only through me being lazy the last few weeks, no reflection on the book.
Enjoyed the current day (no pun intended) / past day narrative to get all sides of the story, and not quite the ending I had expected.
All in all, a great read!

You need to read this book!

I of course read it in JVN's voice in my head, and I had no idea how much this amazing human has been through in the life to where they are now.

Definitely recommend!

Had a bookcase donated to me, so can finally put out some more books instead of keeping them in boxes and bags!
Glad I've got my Roald Dahl collection (plus others on another bookshelf!) on display again ❤

Love love love this book!
I adored the characters, enjoyed the split between the 70s and present day, and the ending was sad but lovely.
I think this is one I'd read again.

Loved this book.
I was cheering on Harold the whole way, despised the 'Pilgrims' when they prevented him from walking enough and wished I could have found him to buy him some walking boots.
The flashbacks to his past with Maureen and Queenie were lovely, and though the ending was tearful, it was also beautifully written.

Andrew65 Fantastic book. 4y

With everything that's going on at the moment, I needed an easy read to take my mind off it.
This isn't the sort of book I normally go for but it did the trick and now I'm desperate to go back to Nice!
Not the most amazing book, but plenty of characters and story lines, and all set in the French Riveria which makes it better!

Mehso-so

Bought this as I'd seen some great reviews for it.
However I wasn't wowed by it. I didn't think it was boring, but the characters didn't strike me as anything special and the story was so-so.

Really enjoyed this book, didn't take me long to read as I was quite engrossed in it!
Another one I've had on my bookshelf for so long, wish I'd read it sooner!

"A love amongst a weird cast of outsiders who had nothing to gain from each other" - Flea

I already want to re-read this book. I've been a RHCP fan for years, and one of my nicknames is Flea, so I was mega excited to read this, and it didn't disappoint! Now to work through the music, film and book lists he's written at the end of the book!
❤?

BarbaraBB I loved this book too. And the RHCP. I‘ve got tickets for their European tour this summer but they will probably be cancelled 💔 5y
FairyFiona @BarbaraBB oh no, I hope they reschedule it and you don't have to wait too long to see them 😭 5y

Loved this book.
I've had it sat on my bookshelf for ages, then was lent another copy from my mum, which gave me the reminder to read it.
Beautifully written, interesting viewpoint as it's narrated by Death, if you haven't yet read it, I fully recommend it!

Not a winner for me.
Didn't sense any 'horror', the animal harm seemed unnecessary, and no real detail about 'The Creed', which I felt would have been interesting...

Only halfway, but it won't be long before I've finished it.
It's so well written, and can't wait to pass on to friends and family for them to read too 😀
