This book is freaking INCREDIBLE!!! The narrative, the writing style is just so spectacular. Each characters story is heart warming. The book is funny and sad, you go through a Gambit of emotions. Can't recommend this enough!!!

On this Diwali, starting this book. I hope the book is as gorgeous as the cover!!
HAPPY DIWALI EVERYONE!!!
The favourites !!!
Dumbledore is the only one left, just not able to find one.
Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes!!!
I always wanted a Harry Potter figurine and now I HAVE ONE!!!
This book is full of action, twists and turn, quite enjoyable. Although important to establish the "Lore", I felt the book was a little long. The characters were not fleshed out, could not really connect to any but would still suggest to go for it.It has enough action and a good story to keep you interested. If you love Greek mythology, do try this one out!!
Just got to know that one of the best books I read this year is being made into a movie. I am always sceptical about book adaptation but this one is exciting as the scale of the movie could be huge, something like Harry Potter or Hunger Games. Also, this is directed by one of the best film makers in India, Mani Ratnam. This makes it very exciting!!!
If you don't mind reading subtitles do check out his work!!
Such lovely covers, can't wait to read these!!!
This bok is set in 2 time lines, one during the Vietnam war in 1970s and the other is during the war with Japan and France in 1950s.
It was just so good to read and learn about loss and tragedy which did not revolve around the World War.
Sunday Funday!!!
Spent the Sunday updating the reading challenge ππππ
What do I say about this. I enjoyed it immensely. The scale of this book is huge and there are so many interesting characters and they are all fleshed out.The writer made sure that we know about each one, there motivations, there role before they are introduced. The main character "PONNIYIN SELVAN" is not even in the first part but you still know of him,his greatness, his valor. This blew my mind and it is only Part 1 of 5!!!
This was very refreshing. It's a murder mystery set in pre-independence India. Not only was it an intriguing mystery but also gave a very raw and accurate description of that time. The freedom struggle, racism, infighting, the writer covered all aspects but never moved away from the original story which in itself was very fascinating and original, you could not tell who was behind it all till the very end.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
So, those who have read the book know that something terrible happens with a beloved character in this one(really trying hard not to give any spoilers ???)
My sister and I are watching the the Harry Potter movies, it's her first time and when that "terrible thing" happens, the expression of shock and dread on her face was just amazing and so pure!!!
She kept asking again and again "DID THAT REALLY HAPPEN"
It was just great!!!
So this box came in today, so excited!!!πΊππΊπππ
CONTEXT: its a conversation b/w 2 Englishmen,book is set in 1919 before India's independence.
Now, one can understand the British POV on this but the British ruled India due to superior military might and sheer ruthlessness. Any "good" that they did was for there own benefit. Although its a fictional book, still this sentiment, which was shared by a many Britishers including there leaders, angers a lot.
Just wanted to rant a little here ???
Have been MIA from this space for sometime now. Making a comeback with a joke!!!!

I was wondering how the series will end but the writer did a great job. Although the universe of the book is it's greatest appeal but it has enough twist and turns to keep you hooked. It has some amazing action sequences. This book is thoroughly enjoyable and has a great reread value.
Will definitely read the rest of the books set in this universe!!!
I love everything about this series, the world the folklore, the action. I am so glad that I keep finding such whimsical worlds. Last year it was Harry Potter (yes, I know its late but better late than never, right?) and now this. Even though i haven't finished the series or read all the books in this universe,I would immensely recommend you read it and loose yourself in this world!!!
Also would request for more such suggestions!!
#50booksIlove
Book 12 - This is one of the nerdiest book ever written. It would be so exciting living in the mind of Douglas Adams. There are aliens, spaceship,a sofa stuck on a staircase,an electric monk. All the bizzare things one could imagine is in this book but it gives you such a rush,a sudden excitement when it all comes together,at the very end!!!
Once everything starts to come together, it's hard to put this one down
It starts with an amazing, epic battle, goes onto a love triangle of sorts and ends with a siege. Barring the love triangle in the middle (which was not entirely bad) this was quite entertaining. Second book of a trilogy are almost always the least likable but it holds well thanks to a tremendous battle in the beginning.
QUICKLY ONTO THE NEXT ONE!!!!
I found this app READING TRACKER which tells you your reading progress and gives you a timeline on how much you should be reading. Really good!!!
I immensely enjoyed this book. I thik more than the characters it's the Grisha world that sucks you in. The characters go through the same journey as most YA novels of finding themselves, making mistakes, being foolish at times but it's the world building that keeps you interested. I am hoping the next books show more of this world, the characters get to travel other parts.
Quickly onto the next one!!!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
So I hear that the Netflix show - Shadow and Bone- is really good. I have not read any book set in this universe. So have started the first book and will watch the show after finishing book 1 so that I can tell people that that's not what happened in the book πππ
Or maybe ruin the show for others by giving spoilers (insert evil laugh) ππ
My birthday gift finally arrived, 6 months lateπππ
It has 3 books, a Sherlock Holmes based book end, a bookaholic mask, personalized library card, some reading trackers, a few bookmarks and couple of other things.
The best part- this is the first of three boxes to arrive!!!
It was hard to imagine US being a British colony. This book is a fictionalized version of Agent 355, a real life spy during the American revolution. The book is more of a personal story of the spy and I wish it had more spying. It is a great read, heart breaking at times but all Americans would be proud of this!!!
I am pretty sure this is referencing a book but don't which book. Can anyone guess???
So excited to start this. PONNIYIN SELVAN,which means the son of river Ponni, is written in Tamil (spoken in South India) during 1950s and was translated into English, it is said to be one of the best novels in Tamil literature. It has 5 parts and I would like to finish it this year!!As a north indian, I am wary of the cultural references which I might not get but I have wanted to read this for a long time.
Tagging one of my favorite book with this perfect bookmark.
The bookmark can be used for so many others.
What are some of your picks for which you would use this bookmark?
I got these reading trackers and they have made me more proactive in my progress!!!
Have quite the bookmark collection now, will try to post one each day!!!
Women's history month has been about women stories, each book is unique but all celebrating women!!!
