Starting Chapter 2, the first one was very interesting, looking forward to the next one!!!
Only 50 pages in, this book paints a very grim picture of the 1980‘s SRI LANKA. The political turmoil, civil war mixed with greed, corruption, hatred. I knew this would be dark but I didn‘t expect ot to be so graphic. The author so far has done a fabulous job of describing the violence in those times!!!

pickI don‘t understand much about investigative journalism but this was very intriguing to read,the relentless efforts of every journalist and the brave women that came forward and shared there wordt experiences.
The 1st half reads like a thriller, its always 2 step forward 1 step back and the second half is like a research paper. Highly recommended!!!

pickThis book is freaking INCREDIBLE!!! The narrative, the writing style is just so spectacular. Each characters story is heart warming. The book is funny and sad, you go through a Gambit of emotions. Can't recommend this enough!!!

pickThis book is full of action, twists and turn, quite enjoyable. Although important to establish the "Lore", I felt the book was a little long.The characters were not fleshed out, could not really connect to any but would still suggest to go for it.It has enough action and a good story to keep you interested.If you love Greek mythology, do try this one out!!
Just got to know that one of the best books I read this year is being made into a movie. I am always sceptical about book adaptation but this one is exciting as the scale of the movie could be huge, something like Harry Potter or Hunger Games. Also, this is directed by one of the best film makers in India, Mani Ratnam. This makes it very exciting!!!

This bok is set in 2 time lines, one during the Vietnam war in 1970s and the other is during the war with Japan and France in 1950s.
It was just so good to read and learn about loss and tragedy which did not revolve around the World War.

I enjoyed it immensely.The scale of this book is huge and there are so many interesting characters and they are all fleshed out.The writer made sure that we know about each one,there motivations,there role before they are introduced.The main character "PONNIYIN SELVAN" is not even in the first part but you still know of him,his greatness,his valor.This blew my mind and it is only Part 1 of 5!!!
pickThis was very refreshing. It's a murder mystery set in pre-independence India. Not only was it an intriguing mystery but also gave a very raw and accurate description of that time.The freedom struggle,racism, infighting, the writer covered all aspects but never moved away from the original story which in itself was very fascinating and original, you could not tell who was behind it all till the very end.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
