Loved this - creepy murder mystery with a lump of supernatural - great writing. Read 3 of his now and loved them all.

After Aaron‘s wife is killed, he discovers some secrets that she had been hiding and it sends him on a journey to finish what she had started. Haunted by grief (and maybe even his wife), this book wasn‘t scary or propulsive, but I did want to keep reading. It was reminiscent of Peter Straub and Thomas H. Cook. More literary than I expected. This was my first book by Malfi, and I would definitely read more. 4⭐️
Ooohmygosh @Jadams89 !! You picked the perfect books for #AllHallowsReadSwap #ahs24 !! I‘m so excited for both of these - a full novel by Malfi, & the 2nd: that title! Also, prefect candy!! I love the s‘mores marshmallows!! & that key lime bar is soooo yummy! (Yes, I‘ve already tried both 🥸) And of course, a giant Kit Kat bar is 🎉. Love that card too! Thank you!!
And thanks to @MaleficentBookDragon for always hosting one of my favorite swaps!

Here are some books that happen on a #ChillyNight.
1. Come with Me- this book was my first Malfi, and I've read everything of his I could find since then. It has a great old-school horror vibe.
2. The Winter People- such a great read by another favorite author. More suspense than horror.
3. Dead Voices- this is part of a MG series, and I loved them all.

I did like this. Just something lacking for me. Certainly not scary. Subtly done though and I did love the ending. Just something missing which I can‘t put my finger on. I think I will try another one of his books. Maybe it‘s his style. Or me? 🤷🏻♀️
First book read in 2024, New Year🙌
This is like a suspense, mystery novel. One December morning, Allison was killed at the mall (It‘s in the book blurb). During the process to move Allison‘s things, Aaron discovered that his wife was full of secrets and the story is about to discover Allison‘s real self but there are eerie elements in the atmosphere. It is a slow pace reading, character driven and Aaron is in a deep grief state, sad story 😔⬇️
It took me a minute to decide what to rate this one. I loved the ending. It was super unique and unexpected. And the middle started out strong. But the ending lacked just a little something. It felt more like a thriller that needed a bit more depth. But overall it was a fun read I just expected more supernatural elements.

Completed my reading goal this year of 150 books. 😃🎉
My Top-3 books of 2022. 📚
A decent mystery told in a unique way…with the grief of the MCs wife tying into it throughout the story. The plot felt reluctant to get going. Sometimes the horror/supernatural-ish elements felt like they bogged the story down with nonsense, and other times they made the story so much better…like with the ending…it just felt right. I want to say that I liked this as much as others have…but I wasn‘t quite there.

I cannot wait to finish this one!

When you start a new book right before bed and then wake up to the feeling of something grabbing your foot...I think this book is for daytime reading only for me. It's not even overtly creepy the book just has an underlying feeling of spookiness. I think I'm going to love it!
This was fun. After his wife‘s murder, Aaron discovers she had been working on uncovering a serial killer. I liked the duality of Aaron‘s grief over his wife with the story of the serial killer; it made for an interesting narrative. And an emotional ride.
I finished this last night. The way this book is written grabbed me. Typically, I don‘t really talk about writing unless to bitch but this was nicely done. Kinda like when I read Gene Wolfs books The Knight and The Wizard. I like when they are writing to someone. Come With Me isn‘t a happy book but it is satisfactory in outcome. Ending seemed a bit rushed. I recommend!
Well this is the best book I've read in a long time, I absolutely loved it!
It's superbly written, engaging, fast-paced and the characters were excellent.
There was supernatural vibes throughout and very atmospheric.
This is my first time reading something written by Ronald Malfi and it certainly won‘t be my last!
1️⃣ The Stand by Stephen King ❤
2️⃣ Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov

This book was pretty good, I do think some things could have been condensed because by the end I was like alright get to it already. Also the ending just kinda lost me a bit. Really good mystery and also good book dealing with grief. 3.5/5
#HHS#HauntedHollowSwap @wanderinglynn Opened my amazing swap! The books are The Black Witch, The trees Crept in, and Come with me, with a bonus copy of Red Rising! A skull wine cup and a gargoyle tea cup😁 I even have a passport to hell-lol. (Actually a notebook) There wasn't a litsy handle, just the name Missy. When you see this, let me know who you are! Thank you for everything, it's amazing!

A little comfort food and a good book for my lunch break today. This is one of those books that you hate to put down.
Another wonderful book by Ronald Malfi. A great mystery with a supernatural twist, and it kept me guessing until the end. I will need to read everything Malfi has written! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Currently reading! I discovered Ronald Malfi last year and I have loved everything I have read so far. This is his newest release.
Even though I have several of Malfi‘s earlier novels on my TBR, this #audiobook is my first experience with his writing-& now I really can‘t wait to read more! I really enjoyed this! After the sudden death of Aaron‘s journalist wife, he winds up uncovering the secrets and lies she left in her wake. Following her path sets him to a haunting road to the truth! Sometimes this feels more mystery than spooky but completely entertaining! #AudioColoring

My insomnia has been back with a vengeance lately, so instead of sleeping last night I devoured this creepy read. 😁
This book is part ghost story, part murder mystery, but completely engrossing. It follows a husband uncovering secrets in his wife's past that lead to a series of unsolved murders. There were a couple of good twists and the writing was very atmospheric. Great read to keep me up all night.
