David Copperfield | Dickens Charles

A good story, but so much longer than it needed to be. We have a literature teacher in my book club who reminds us that this was published in monthly installments. Apparently Dickens even applied feedback from readers to tweak future portions of the novel with this work, so that probably led to more rambling.

There were parts I couldn‘t relate to, but through it all, Strayed‘s vulnerability drew me into her adventures.

I stuck with this one bc it was a bookclub book, but it was a little painful. I recognize that‘s the point, but I still don‘t have to enjoy it. I do feel a sense of relief and accomplishment to be finished though!

This is worthwhile. It was neat to get a glimpse of what Harry has endured, but he also glosses over some parts and attempts to justify others. Still, I feel more sympathy for him, so I am glad I gave it a shot.

Very interesting to learn more about Melinda Gates. Her passion and purpose are undeniable in this book. It was heartwarming to see her use her platform for good and to be willing to stand up for what she feels is right.
