Sometimes good people have to do bad things. This mystery is full of surprise twists and turns. It certainly made me wonder how things would end. Alice Feeney does have words. I gave this a solid 4/5.
"We are the cartographers of our own destiny."
What a beautifully unusual way to put something I've heard many times into completely new words. ?
Oooh the twists and turns with this one were excellent! No idea why it got such mixed reviews as I really liked it. The narration was top notch too! This is my second Alice Feeney read, and I'm thinking she's quickly becoming a favorite of mine. 😊
This is the second Feeney book I have bailed on. I just couldn't get into it (or Rock Paper Scissors). I've heard/read some good reviews on her books, but for some reason, they're not for me. 🤷♀️
A good book is nothing less than magic. 🩷🩵🤍✨
I‘ve read all of Alice Feeney‘s books except one! Slow start to this one and wasn‘t sure how I felt about it at first, but ended up really liking it! Not so much a thriller but definitely a good mystery 👏🏻
Merry Christmas and Happy #Jolabokaflodswap.
Thank you @Catsandbooks this is a fantastic gift! I‘ve been wanting to read this book for a long time. And PB trees are the best (perfect ratio of chocolate to pb). I really love the bookmark too. I‘m into plaid right now. 😁
This has been a great swap day.
Am I getting too desensitized to thrillers? This did not feel like a thriller to me at all! There was a bit of a mystery around the what happened at the care house but it felt to me like the focus was more around the 4 women and how their stories intertwined.
It kind of broke my heart to not give this 5⭐️, but it just didn‘t hit like her previous novels. Following several POVs around a murder and a 20 year old kidnapping while tackling difficult topics like postpartum depression and strained mother-daughter relationships, Feeney foregoes the punch of a thriller for a deeper drama. I was hungry for a Feeney WTF moment which was not delivered, but I did enjoy how she brings the story together. 3⭐️
A baby disappears from a grocery story. A woman in a care home develops a friendship with a young worker. A woman looks for her estranged adult daughter. All these stories move along in interesting ways and come together in a very satisfying conclusion. And did I mention there‘s a murder? I always like Feeney and that was certainly the case here.
Good Bad Girl is a bit of a character puzzle. It took me a while to get a handle on the characters, who despite being good people, made some bad choices. This book also explores the often difficult mother-daughter relationship. When everything came together, I liked this book even though I had a rough start with it. If you are up for some twists and turns, read this one!
Guess it‘s just not for me. All too obvious. I finished it but didn‘t enjoy it.
Not exactly what I expected from Alice Feeney, but still great twists. More emotionally heavy than thriller.

This was an interesting set-up.
Making all the narratives unrealibe isn't something I came across before. And while I found it frustrating most of the time, I got why Feeney chose to do it that way.
I got most of the twists figured out way before they happened, but still had to see if I got it right...
Not my favourite by Feeney.

I LOOOVVVVEEEE Alice Feeney‘s novels! They are always so twisty and twisted and just an interesting and often disturbing look at the human experience. What makes a good person vs. a bad person? Does doing something bad make you a bad person, and vice versa? While I can‘t say this was my favorite of her books, and while it wasn‘t hard to figure out most of the twists, it was still a truly wild ride and I enjoyed every minute! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Oh this was fun. At just about 75% in the reader is fully let in on the mystery. So I thought I‘d just sit back and enjoy as the characters figure out what I already knew. But oh no, Alice Feeney doesn‘t make it that easy. The twists just keep coming!
This wasn‘t one of Alice Feeney‘s best books. I‘ve loved all of her past books, but this one was a little bit convoluted and all over the place. It was mysterious, yes, but the characters were a bit flat and lifeless. Better luck next time.
Alice Feeney is quickly becoming one of my favorites. This book has many twists and was so well done. Might be my favorite of hers so far ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“The world is full of people who are good at being bad, and people who are bad at being good.” Told from 4 povs the fast pacing of this book, short chapters told by alternating characters made it easy to just read one more chapter and one more chapter until I had to make another cup of tea and just keep reading. Alice Feeney has blown me away again. A spellbinding read that has me back in love with ladybugs, the same way I was as a child.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🐞
“Twenty years after a baby is stolen from a stroller, a woman is murdered in a care home. The two crimes are somehow linked, and a good bad girl may be the key to discovering the truth.” [Oops! I don‘t have an audiobook credit until 9/4. Until then…]
Well I am in the minority on this one. But this book took talent to write and work out the ending.

This storyline was hard to follow at times, likely quite on purpose. It felt like a bait and switch situation throughout, and it made me look at everyone till I figured it out. It is worth the read and must have been complicated to write.
I absolutely couldn‘t stop listening to Feeney‘s latest! Told across multiple perspectives, secrets dangle just out of reach through most of it, begging the listener to keep going. A missing infant from twenty years ago, deaths at a care home in the present and the pricklier side of mother-daughter relationships all combine into an engaging and well-performed listen! Some twists may not surprise, but it‘s satisfying to have hunches proven right!
This mystery requires a bit of patience—and maybe construction of a family tree—but it‘s a good time once it gets going. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#good-bad-girl
Publication is expected August 29.

Life is better with a little floof 🥰 All the snuggles with this goodest good boy 🐶
Completely and utterly STOKED to read this book and I just got approved to listen to the audiobook on #Netgalley 🤩🤩🤩 I have a signed copy pre-ordered as well 🫶🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I‘m a HUGE Alice Feeney fan!
Too many POVs. The twists were predictable and unrealistic. The first chapter hooked me in but the ending didn‘t live up to my expectations. I‘m sure some people will enjoy it but it didn‘t work for me. #psychologicalthrillers #thrillers #bookswithatwist
This is where Alice Feeney and I part ways. This is the 4th book of hers I have read and only have enjoyed one of them. I gave up on this as it was hard to follow and so boring. An author who is just not for me at all
