Just heading home from a fantastic weekend away in Krakow. Beautiful old town especially the main square and castle. An emotional tour of Auschwitz. An amazing trio down the salt mines and delicious food. Would be lost without my lonely planet guide!

My absolute favourite chef, I love this cookbook, fantastic vegetable inspired recipes. They are mainly savoury but there is a small sweet section at the end so I decided to try the banana and peacan bread with tahini and honey. Delicious! Anyone got his new baking book?

I have been to sound Cyprus and have Greek Cypriot friends so already knew about the conflict. However I really enjoyed reading this book learning more about the politics at the time and the fictional story that could have been true. Heart breaking that the divide in Cyprus still exists and the fact that famagusta is a complete ghost town now, left exactly as when people fled. Anyone been to north Cyprus?

I love cooking and experimenting with different ideas. I find this book extremely useful as it's vegan and gluten free which although I am not I have friends who are. Tonight I'm trying the stuffed chestnut mushrooms except I used a giant Portobello mushroom instead, really Good filling!

Casual Vacancy | J.K. Rowling

I kept putting off reading this book. How could it compare to the excellence of Harry Potter? I found myself pulled into the story and once I got my head around all the characters loved going between each person's story and perspective. It did however feel she was trying too hard to make the book adult with lots of swearing, sex, drug taking, child abuse, domestic violence. But maybe that's just me being critical knowing who the author is?

I was immediately taken back into the magical world of Harry Potter. I did find it difficult to imagine the characters as being in their 40's and found it odd that Harry and Draco were actually on the same side and not fighting as usual. Not as good as the original serious (obviously) but has made me want to see the play. Anyone actually managed to get tickets? And if so what did you think?

Could not stop thinking about this book, the character of einer/lilie really drew me in. Especially the fact it was based on a true story. I struggled to understand Greta's relationship with einer/lilie she almost seemed like a protective older sister. Gives an insite into what it must be like for people struggling with their sexuality.

Jamaica Inn | Daphne Du Maurier

I have just been away for a few days in cornwall and had heard about the Jamaica Inn famous for its history of smuggling which inspired a book (of the same name) by author Daphne du Maurier so I downloaded the book onto my kindle for the trip and I am hooked! It was great to visit places that influenced the book, better enabling me to visualise places whilst reading. Also inspired me to read more of her books, Rebecca will be next!

The Corfu Trilogy | Gerald Durrell

Enjoyed this book, in particular the funny verging on ridiculous stories about his families escapades whilst living in Corfu (it did make me wonder how much was embellished!) But it made me laugh out loud at times. I did find some of the descriptions of the animals a little too much at times, probably didn't need to go into so much description but I guess this shows his enthusiasm.

Read this book after we hiked the Inca trail (photo of us at machu picchu) it was great re-living the trip and knowing exactly the places he was talking about and reminiscing the hike. I really enjoyed the book, the author is really engaging making it an easy read even tho it's non-fiction (Not something I'd usually pick up). I would really recommend this book, and hiking the Inca trail!!! #travel #explore #adventure #non-fiction

I did enjoy this book, but found it a little hard to read as so much kept going wrong and people seemed to conspire against him. I love reading books set in places I have been, I read this whilst in Morocco which I think gave me a greater understanding of both the book and culture in Morocco itself. #morocco #travel #inspire #riad #culture

DebinHawaii Great photo! 💙 Welcome to Litsy! 🎉📚👍😀Hope you enjoy it here! 7y
Michelle_2187 Thank you @DebinHawaii I'm new to this so just trying to work out what to do! Glad you like the photo it was taken in a riad in Marrakech when I was there in April. Thought it was apt as the book is about renovating a house in casablanca 😊 7y
DebinHawaii @Michelle_2187 It's pretty easy so jump in and have fun and ask any questions you have. People are great and helpful. I bought a copy of this book at the library book sale but it is sitting still in my #TBR stack. 📚📚😬📚📚📚That is one Litsy thing--it will grow your TBRs to epic proportions! 😆 7y
