A book that is the need of the hour for our nation. A book that is beautiful from every perspective to make a person realise how beautiful actually the world can be. I book that made me wish that every person on this planet should have been a bookworm then there might not have been a need for a struggle towards world peace. Everyone would be aware, mindful and humanity would have become a religion.

Now this read is a full disclosure. He has warned us that it is counterintuitive. So I was reluctant to read this book as it was seen in everyone‘s hands. Be it airport or at a random get together. On my friend‘s suggestion that it is good, since we have been reading all books together since 9th grade, I went ahead with it. All I have to say about this book is may be I don‘t agree to everything he states but there is some take away from the book.

It was a short fast read. With Murakami as always you are left to your own musings. So the best part is the very open interpretation the book gives scope to. In his own intricate delicate story telling he left me with a question. May be I was the birthday girl, wishing.

This book was an amazing read. My dad picked out this book for me. It was like watching Hollywood movies in my head. But then I realised that they might be the inspiration. I am in awe of the intelligence and patriotism of the people. I wonder what level of selflessness should be ingrained in the people serving their countries. Bless the people trying to keep everyone safe. I pray peace and love to all.

A classic is always love. Makes us feel that life is simple. And also is making me think that has life become more complex now? With evolving humans and evolving environment are we loosing intimacy at various levels? Rich or poor, we will keep together and be happy in one another. Is it true even now? Well it‘s all about discovering. Wait and watc?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

It‘s so refreshing. The author is hands down witty and humorous, so is it witty humour. Loved him then love him more now. Can‘t wait to get my hands on all his books.

Man's Search for Meaning | Viktor E Frankl

This was a book I started reading while I was traveling. I kept it in a bag and then between books forgot to finish. Now I have decided to finish it asap, because I came across references from this book in the book ikigai I was reading. Him being a psychologist and a case study for himself has peaked my interest. As it is tried and tested by him and on him. I guess there is a lot to learn where this came from.

This is a fun and different read! First time reading something of this kind. By this I mean the writing style. Although the topic seems the one that‘s being addressed every now and then, the way it‘s been crafted is ostentatious.

A stubborn old man trying to prove something. Hey but that‘s the spirit I hope to have at that age. Addresses lovely relationships like love and friendship over the ages. An insight into how a little hope and faith and strong belief can make a huge difference. I struggled to finish it though. Not a page turner for me. But glad I did finish it. Sounds like I am an optimist. Blah! It‘s good to be at times!!

This was a biography I am glad my dad picked it out for me to read. It‘s just so enticing. I am a lover of space and the technology related to it. This biography was his story of different battles. Politics, technology and life lessons a combo of everything. I do not know how to emphasise this but it is must read. This book got me going to read more and more biographies and serious books. In this short life this is a way out to lead many lives 😍

I am in love with Neil Gaiman. His ability to narrate is beyond words. I was completely reluctant to place this book down. The delivery of mythological stories with a touch of humour is captivating. A fun and riveting experience to imagine Chris hemsworth and Tom hidleston in the plot. Couldn‘t help but turned out to be hilarious. A light read and for sure I am picking his other books up.

A memoir. I find memoirs to be fascinating. Because it gives a small look into how people perceive life. It‘s a piece of them, being bold enough say so, becoming immortal. And like passing on knowledge and a chance to live through them a different life. This is lovely piece about a boy ie young Ruskin bond, sharing the bond with his father. Giving us a chance to ponder over how our father influenced and shaped our life.

We go through life doing the things we are basically designed to. Rarely stop and think about the bigger picture. Humans being the only animals on this planet gifted with consciousness, is it justified to only do the basics? This book is about a person who wants to embrace the bigger picture and push to do something more. In his short life span he tries his best to touch as many lives possible through bringing justice to his vocation.

Love in the Time of Cholera | Gabriel Garcia Marquez

So now my journey has brought me to Colombia 🇨🇴. My first time with Gabriel Garcia Marquez!! Have been waiting to read her. Well thousand years of solitude was the pick but the size says it all. So let's start with baby steps. What do you say guys?? Will I be saying YAY or Nay!!! #nationalgeography #aroundtheworldintwelvebooks

ChiranjeeviKulkarni Will Marquez lend himself to be read as a woman writer? That's interesting! Magic realism in Marquez usually masks the masculine energy. Do write a review on the experience of reading it assuming the author as a woman. It would be nice to know if it changes anything in our experience of the text. 6y
Nidhi_Ashok @ChiranjeeviKulkarni the name of the author had actually made the illusion easier. Will surely write a review once finished 6y

Hey guys!! Has this ever happened to you?? You start reading a book that has already been made into a movie. I know sometimes you reach late to the party and the after party sucks!! And my after party is a little saddening because the movie running in my head has the actors playing the role. Usually it's me and that's what makes reading exciting for me. But still enjoying it. Your thoughts?

kishore_kk I too have watched the movie. Should I drop my plan to read the book? 6y
