I had a physical reaction to the end of this book which I credit to really good writing. Great read.
Sunday read
Lots of good reviews - excited to delve into this one!
Perfect description of this book: painful, brave, and beautiful.
Starting book number TEN of summer on this rainy Friday morning. I've been reluctant to read my first Dessen because I think I'll get hooked, but I've gotten hooked on quite a few authors this summer (Kacie West and Kristan Higgins to name a few), so what's one more??
Think I'm going to like this one as much as I liked Ove ♥️
So much love for this book. So incredibly sad and hopeful with a clear message: Listen ♥️
This weekend's book purchases. Starting with the Emmett Till book.
Saturday morning read borrowed from my school's library
Even in the face of incomprehensible evil, the human spirit prevailed. ♥️ Emotional and powerful read.
Not sure if I'm emotionally ready for this book. Anyone read this yet?
A book set in my hometown for today's #24in48 read! Now I want a donut!
Will you won't you want me? The outcasts apologize, apologize, heartsick & dismantled. #RhythmAndRhyme @24in48 #24in48
Thought I'd be at least one book down by now, but I keep napping! @24in48
Laughed out loud at "And so are you, most likely. But we don't throw stones at you because of it." ?? #2HoursDown #24in48 @24in48
On the Jellicoe Road is one of my all-time favorite books. Here's hoping this one follows suit.
This book just dragged for me. It took me four days to get through only one hundred pages! DNF'd it at page 110. 😕
Aysel.. A character who will stick with me for quite some time.
When you introduce books to your students & the next day one comes in with a stack they think you'll like 🤗🤗
Just an okay read.
The writing in this book is getting on my nerves. Forty pages of Anne thinks, Anne feels, Anne believes, Anne is. So much telling and barely any showing. There's tons of unclear pronouns (not pictured) and just general confusion in the writing. And where are the twists and turns everyone keeps writing about? Here's hoping this gets better..
