Off today and trying to stay off my feet after hiking in tight shoes. Going to try to finish this today.
The Other Woman by Sandie Jones
Adam and Emily meet at a networking event and are soon joined at the hip. Within months they are engaged. After a bad breakup years earlier, things are falling into place for Emily. There‘s just one teeny problem, Adam‘s mother Pammie will stop at absolutely nothing to get Emily out of her son‘s life. I won‘t say anymore, the less you know about this up front the better. It was like the book version of a lifetime movie, which I enjoyed.
I've never really hated a book until now. I've disliked some but didn't hate because they at least had one thing I've liked. This one though I didn't care about any of the characters or the story. When I read the description it gave me Hush vibes so I was really excited because I love that movie. Nothing but disappointment.
I loved this book! I didn‘t put it together before the end which was really excellent because it definitely took me by surprise when the story unfolded. The characters were so interesting. You can feel the emotions in this book. I felt so strongly about the characters by the end and really became invested in the way everything turned out. Great twist and the story was impossible to put down.
I loved this! 💕 Excellent psychological thriller. I was completely engaged and didn‘t want to stop listening. I thought I knew what was happening, but I was so wrong. I love it when an author surprises me with the ending.
While I did guess the ending I still absolutely loved this book!! Have you read it what did you think?
Okay, so I‘ll admit I had to scan this one and hunt for the major plot points becauuuusseee....I swapped it without realizing I hadn‘t read it yet. Dumb. Anyway. While the writing for the main couple was quick witted and fun, the characters of Adam and his mother were completely unlikeable. Boo. Also hated the violence their relationship culminated in. 😕
I don‘t understand what Emily saw in Adam. I didn‘t like him from the beginning. I don‘t understand why Emily would put up with what she did for Adam. Emily seemed older than 27, yet she made really immature decisions. Once the twists were revealed, I didn‘t think people would act that way. There were great cliffhangers and funny moments which is what made me give it 3 stars. I‘m not sure I‘d rush to read another of Sandie Jones‘ books.
Debating abandoning this one (or skipping to the end), as I've been reading it for a week and keep finding excuses to do anything else, but instead I'm corralling myself at my favorite happy hour, putting my phone in my bag and reading for at least an hour before I decide. #booksandbooze
Guys, I can‘t stop thinking about this book. It‘s delightfully creepy with an intense twist (though a bit unsatisfying for me) and a driven plot. It‘s not a perfect book, but worth the read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ https://bit.ly/2FrqjMN

I‘m not sure whether to give this a pan or a so-so. I found the characters incredibly irritating but reviews assured me the end was worth it. The last half hour listening did have me gripped and I didn‘t quite see it coming, but I‘m not sure 8.5 hours of maddening characters were worth it, so... 🤷🏻♀️
I did it! My last book of 2018 is finished! This one had a twist I didn‘t see coming but realized I should have. The author gave plenty of hints along the way, which I love! I wasn‘t a fan of some of the language and more intimate scenes, but it definitely kept my attention and had me racing to the end to find out what was going on! 3.5/5 stars.
This puts me at approximately 21 hours, 38 minutes for #24B42019!
Almost halfway through the tagged book. Enjoying my cozy corner on my mom‘s couch. My reading speed has slowed down because I‘m distracted by the Twilight Zone Marathon, which is a New Year‘s Eve tradition! #readinthenewyear #hour3 #booknook
Thank you so much @Victoriahoperose ! I have heard so much about this book and am so excited to read it. I just love the cover of it 😍 I love being a part of #kindlitsy - meeting new friends, sharing great books and sometimes getting a surprise in your email 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Have you ever read a book where the character‘s behavior frustrated you tremendously? I spent a large portion of this... https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/blog/the-other-woman
Took 6 mos for this to become available through Libby and boy was it so worth the wait. Took me one sitting to get through this gem. I couldn‘t put it down until I finished AT 3 am! The audio was amazing! everything a psychological thriller should be, the characters were amazingly well developed and the twists and turns left my mouth agape with incredulity. What a fabulous debut novel! I can‘t wait to read more from this author
