A light who-dun-it with suspense, love, emotion, and a perfect Coney Island feeling amusement park set in the 70s. A fun house to live in would be a moving castle right? This is such a cool MG fantasy from the 80s. Sophie, knows that as she is the eldest daughter and lives in a fairytale world, she will have to lead a dull life as she will fail at any quests. Then she goes and gets herself cursed and turned into an old hag and decides she may as well do whatever the heck she wants. Adventure ensues!

When I was in junior/high school I was big into horror. I also worked evenings in a pharmacy with a paperback book rack so I worked my way through a lot of them on quiet nights. This book published in 1980, first came out under Owen West (one of Dean Koontz's pen names) & was a novelization of a 1981 horror film but production on the film took so long the book came out first.🤡You definitely want to get movin' in a funhouse!😱

It brings a magical funhouse Of fantastic toys to kids living through the worst of conditions, food shortages, bombs & the constant threat of death. It totally reminds me of Mr Magoriums Magic Emporium, my daughters favourite movie as a kid. What kid, or adult for that matter, wouldn‘t want to spend hours inside, playing & just basking in the magic.✨🎪🤹🏻♀️✨
