Great book. Really insightful into life in India over multi generations. Easy to read and captivating

I really enjoyed the first book in the trilogy Your Family Now, but I found this one simplified the story line to make the tale work. If someone had truly gone through what Matt had gone through in the first book, he would not have taken the path he did in this book. An easy read with some interesting ideas.

Oh wow!! I loved this book. Very cleverly written and kept me guessing until the end.

I had high hopes for this book, but was sadly disappointed. It jumps forwards and backwards in time (which I have enjoyed in books in the past) and flits from one character to another with complete disregard for the reader. I was left trying to work out what on earth is going on. It does make an attempt to explain the reasoning behind why things are able to happen, but in a complicated and seemingly meaningless manor. Not one I would recommend.

I am just under half way through this book and I love it. It is another one my (13year old) son recommended. At first it is hard to read as it is written by a child who is learning his letters and is is written phonetically. I sometimes find myself having to almost read some words allowed to figure them out. I have so many questions. I can‘t wait to continue reading to get the answers. Mostly why? ... but also, Is Newts mum getting the coinage?

I really enjoyed this book. I live locally to the story setting and it is really interesting to read about how people lived in places I frequent today. Dungeness is still a world apart from any other sea side town. A real insight into how hard it must have been to live there over 100 years ago. A good story which leaves you wanting to find out more about the Alice.

I really enjoyed this book. I found it a little confusing in the beginning trying to keep track of each girls history, but that may have been as I was quite busy and had to spread my reading time over a few weeks. Once I had it figured out though it was a good book which had a few twists and turns and kept you guessing right till the end.

I loved this book. My 13 year old son persuaded me to read this book and it is great to have something we both loved to chat about. An easy thrilling read. Definitely a pick for me

I do like Adam Croft‘s style of writing. This book did not disappoint. A real page turner

I was really looking forward to reading this book. I loved a Handmaids Tale and couldn‘t wait for the encore. Although I did enjoy this book and it was great to get some more story and once again visit Gilead. I did find it a little disjointed. However, if you are a fan of the handmaids tale it is worth a read

Every other Adam Croft book I have read I have absolutely loved.... but sadly not this one. It lacks the twists and turns which are such a delight in everything else he writes. I guess this maybe because this is part 1 of a series, but i found it a real disappointment

I really enjoyed this book. It keeps you guessing as to why on earth she would shoot her husband and then just not speak! It gives you a real insight into how someone with a traumatic history might behave and why. We are all different and this book truly shows that.

A shocking tale of a German boy and a Jewish girl who are living in Jersey when the Germans occupy the island in WWII. This is a well written book, which describes some of the horrors of Auschwitz during that time. Lest we never forget

I enjoyed this book. It is aimed at kids, but is a light easy read after a tough read.

What an odd book. This was recommended to me by @aliincornwall my lovely sister. I liked that it was short stories so easy to read and I get that they have a moral to them.... but they are just odd!

I really enjoyed this book. It gives a real insight into the Ritz in Paris during the Second World War and of the huge disparity between its inhabitants and the rest of Paris. The character Olivia is brought alive and I felt that I desperately wanted her to be ok.

Wow!!! It is not very often women are portrayed this way in books. I thought it was a cleverly written story which kept me guessing as to how it would all turn out. I enjoyed this book

This is an incredible read. Although I knew what happened in the concentration camps, this first hand account is totally shocking. It is so totally incomprehensible what happened and what is described, yet this book brings to life some of the events which went on and how some went out of their way to help.... others went out of their way to make events worse. A must read. We must not forget!

I really enjoyed this book. Not only was it funny but it was also shocking and surprising. I had no idea that doctors were expected to work the number of hours on the trot that Adam had to work. It is amazing that there are not more mistakes. Also, why do people insist on putting things inside themselves?.... just because there is a orifice... it doesn‘t mean inanimate objects (or animate ones) should be placed there!

Wow!!! I loved this book!!! She really gets into the skin of Megan the mother. What a horrendous experience yet it is portrayed fantastically. Definite read!

I really enjoyed this book. Especially the descriptions of what it was like to live in Sweden in the 1980‘s. The author cleverly withholds details about Eli which ensures that you have good feelings regarding Eli and Oskar‘s relationship. Wanting them to stay friends and help each other out.

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book. It keeps you on your toes, trying to work out who did what.

My 12 year old son read this book and suggested I read it too, so we could talk about it together. I wasn‘t expecting to enjoy it, but I really did. I found the characters interesting and found myself willing them to survive and for Ruby to learn how to use her powers safely.

Wow! I love this book. It is really thought provoking. I knew that women in China bound their daughters feet to make them marriageable, but I hadn‘t really thought about how they went about it. This book is very graphic about what the girls and women went through during their feet binding. The book follows the special Laotong relationship between Snow Flower and Lily. It cleverly depicts how they would have lived and what was expected if them.

I had high hopes for this book. It was ok, but I think it would have been more interesting if it had focused more on the occupation during WWII. I found the story being told by letters a little bit confusing and had to keep checking who was writing to whom. The bits which did cover the war were interesting.

Wow, what an amazing and thought provoking book. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It really makes you think, thank goodness it‘s only a story
