An Agoraphobic woman with an unhealthy hobby and a harrowing back story .
Not the best thriller Iv read but was ok and worth a read, it did keep me guessing and I didn‘t see the ending coming!

A wonderful afternoon at the Marlowe Theatre watching girl on the train ... also am currently - girl on the train. Couldn‘t stop myself wandering into a few of Canterbury‘s book shops and paperchase . Planning on getting one organised! Especially with the new pen 🖊 not only a biro and not only a highlighter but has mini post-it notes too 🤩 life changing

It‘s been a few years since I read the book but it soon came back to me , great twist 🚆

The perfect setting to finish this trilogy 3 ⭐️ Although I enjoyed the books I felt the end was a bit rushed . It was a real turn around ending though that I didn‘t see coming! So different from The Taker
Finally warmed to Lanore!
Immortality , underworld , magic demons and witches makes the Taker trilogy a pick 👍

3.5 ⭐️
There was no way I was going to get travel sickness I needed to finish this!!

Second in the trilogy

No idea where this is going but I can‘t wait to start the next one. Left on a cliff hanger , feel myself wanting a happy ending for the demon character we have loved to hate so far! Will there be a twist! ....

Love , obsession ,immortality binding you to your maker , your life is in their hands and when their hands are pure evil it makes for a very dark tale.
A real page turner and not what I was expecting , there were many a time I wanted to reach into the book and hand one of the characters the DVD “he‘s just not that into you “ 😂
I wasn‘t planning to read the trilogy in one go but I will be starting the reckoning as soon as I get a spare minute!

This caught my eye in the library a few weeks ago

I‘m not doubting this would be a good read BUT when your a busy working mummy with very little you time on your hands I like to read to escape 😂 and this didn‘t feel like escaping.

I may return to this another time but after a few chapters I just had no desire to pick it back up . Bail for now and returning to the library

I saw this film about 20 years ago and hadn‘t realised there was a book.
As harrowing as the story is it‘s a real page turner,as much as I loved it I was a little disappointed, I thought the book would give a little more in regards to life for the boys after Wilkinson‘s . It jumps from them being 13 to adulthood.
After reading the book I bought the film , left feeling sad for those who were lost because of experiences. One that stays with you

Fascinating already ..

Awesome page turner , reminded me a little of criminal minds 😍

Cathythoughts Loved this one 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5mo
Powered_By_Plants @Cathythoughts wasn‘t it great! Have you read any of his others? I have another one on the book shelf , I hope it‘s as good! 😁 5mo
Cathythoughts @Powered_By_Plants I did read The Defence .... also good , but Thirteen is my favorite so far. I recently got a book called The Whisper Man by Alex North ... I only got it because there was a quote on the front from Steve Cavanagh hailing it as “the best crime novel of the decade “ .....and it‘s very good 👍🏻. I didn‘t read Twisted , but I hear it‘s good. 5mo
Powered_By_Plants @Cathythoughts ooh twisted is the one on my book shelf! Will let you know how it is 😁 5mo

In our Roald Dahl marathon it‘s James and the giant peach tonight 🍑 ..... so they are all rolling around inside the peach as it‘s rolling down the hill and then ....

This sentence stopped me in my tracks 🙈

🤣 I had to have a silent giggle 🙊 #bigkid

I‘m guessing Dahl was referring to the actual horns on Mr grasshoppers lap 🤔🤣....

It has been a good few years since I watched the movie but from what I can remember it‘s quite different 🤔

Left with a few questions unanswered and wanting more ... onto the subtle knife . Understandable how they are branded “his dark materials”

Highly recommend this in audible narrated by Philip Pullman himself Iv thoroughly enjoyed listening 👍

Momma_Jo It's been over ten years since I read this series. Might be time to revisit it. I remember absolutely loving it and recommending it to all my friends in seventh grade. Watched the movie when it came out..... Don't remember if I was disappointed by it or not ... 5mo
Powered_By_Plants @momma_jo I am shocked I missed the series , I read all the Harry potter but didn‘t come across this one. I‘m going to have to watch it again now Iv read the book. Looking forward to reading the rest 😍 5mo
Momma_Jo @Powered_By_Plants I found it in the back of the bookstore. It never really got the same hype as the Harry Potter series. Shame really. 5mo
Powered_By_Plants @momma_jo I agree such a clever book. I have heard they are doing a HBO series on it , that should be good 😁 5mo

Thoroughly enjoying re reading Roald Dahl classics with my little one , this page definitely resonated with us as we often speak about good thoughts, karma and being a good person 💕

I had also forgotten how stomach turning these characters are 🤢 🤣🤣

Kelican17 I love this quote. I have it on a magnet, on my fridge! 5mo

The Magic Finger | Roald Dahl

Having great fun introducing belle to the world of Roald Dahl , slowly making our way through the collection and tonight was the magic finger. She hates any sort of animal cruelty so did cover her eyes when we learnt of the Greggs shooting habits but was pleased with the lessons learned in the end.
We also loved the added extras about Roald Dahl at the end of the book especially reading his school report! 😍 A lovely bonus

I devoured this and loved Arlidge‘s style of writing ... no gumf just straight to the point in short sharp chapters that left you hungry for more .

I later learned that this was number 6 (I think) in detective Inspector Helen grace series ... not that you would need to read the others but I think it would give you more of a back story to her. After finishing I bought the first in the series “eeny meeny” which I‘m yet to read 😁

readingjedi Hi new Litsy person 🙂 I so get the raw meat thing - raw chicken is utterly repulsive 🤢 5mo

So every so often I will pick up a girlie easy read
finished this a few weeks ago

I must admit the main character did frustrate me at times wanting her to just be open with her partner 😖
If it wasn‘t for the LOL moments it would have been a so-so but it did make me chuckle and all us mums can identify with those mummy/wife issues we have and the different characters and mix of mummy‘s we meet along the way 🥰

“For the love of money is the root of all evils” -1 Timothy 6:10 ✝️

This was a bit of a rollercoaster for me a times a real page turner ... clutching my phone torch after lights out but I did find the characters quite frustrating at times and not sure how I feel about the ending 😕

Worth a read but won‘t be going on my fav book list
