A woman‘s questioning of her deceased father‘s journal that webs a new friendship of different society types. The writing is very descriptive; however, I felt the timing of hopping from past to present was a bit off–better segues were needed. The book was not gripping and although I did not bond with the characters, I did appreciate the friendship that grew. Great read!!! A realistic fiction book about a child that grows into a woman and the life she led impacted by abandonment, survival and the natural world set in the marshes of North Carolina.
