This is wildly entertaining and utterly charming. Full of the animals Gerry encounters as well as the hijinks of his family, it's a delightful book for anyone.

"'The rebels are not the despicable rabble too many have supposed them to be,' concluding 'that the conquest of this Country is not easy.'"
Funny how poignant Revolutionary War quotes can be in an election year, and how applicable to both parties. #electionyear #americanhistory
This was... fine. Interesting concept, but hidden by the tropes of teen dystopian novels. Doubt I'll be picking up the next two books, but I could see why you might like it.
"Life is change. If you aren't growing and evolving you're standing still, and the rest of the world is surging ahead. Most of these people are very immature. They lead 'still' lives, waiting."
It's hard to come off of Where'd You Go, Bernadette? without looking like you're trying. And in the end it kind of felt like this was getting pushed forward instead of the plot happening organically. So let's say it's fine, and decent, but leaves me asking, "Where'd you go, Maria?"
Um... Basically amazing book. It's fun, it's educational (but in no way boring), and it's a great night's read. Recommend for basically everyone! #holygreyhound #holychildren #holyguacamole #itsthatgood
Another gorgeous Paulo Coelho book that makes me cry.
The whole book is perfect. It's funny. It's heart wrenching. It's full of reminders of why being human is tough and terrible and totally worth it. (Also, I don't have a taxidermied raccoon but I do have a stuffed bush baby. If you read the book, you'll get it.) #readingchallenge2016 #READTHISBOOK
It's a lot like Girls in White Dresses but even more blah. Everybody drinks, nobody communicates, and everything ultimately stays the same. Meh. #characterdevelopmentplease #nope #electionfiction
Halfway through #LoveFromBoy and it is PHENOMENAL. If you thought Roald Dahl was great before, just read his sweet and funny letters home. You'll love him even more.
I know it's crazy, but I was hoping a book on the history and future of handwriting would be a little more interesting. Just felt like a long babble about writing and the conclusion that we all type anyway. Meh.
Beautiful book that kept me up past midnight to finish. Can't wait for the movie!
This book is AMAZING. It's full of adventure and history and politics and heartbreak. 100% worth reading.
What an incredible book. At once heartbreaking and inspiring, this is a book that can change the world. #oursharedshelf
Read this for my #readingchallenge2016: a book you swore you'd never read. I swore right the first time. And laughed through this whole disaster. #50shadesofsadness #sorrySnowPatrol
AMAZING!!! Napoleonic Wars era drama with so much to think about. Made me want to reread her Written on the Body because WOW.
Maybe it's because I don't know her music, but this memoir just didn't grab me. When you're bored mid-sentence, I don't count that as a win. Sorry Carrie.
Fun summer kind of reading, and definitely kept me interested!
Such an amazing novel - I'm calling it a mature version of The Nest. And all the talk of oranges in it made me desperate for citrus and California sun...
Totally loved this - worth working the midnight event, staying up until 3 to finish it, and going back into work this morning to tell everyone about it. Utterly magical.
This book is smart and sassy and full of conversation starters. Also filled with reminders of why we tend to move away from ancient rituals. Like sticking fish in us to make a man fall in love... #LesPoissons #LovePotionNumberNeverMind
House sitting means time to read. So far 1/7 completed - Marjane Satrapi is AMAZING. Now it's just a question of which one comes next... #StacksOnStacks
I'll admit I picked this one up because of the cover, but I didn't put it down until I had to drive home so I could read the last 100 pages. SO GOOD. Original and magical and full of adventure. Good thing the second book is already out...
I never read this in high school, so part of my reading challenge was to tackle it. I know I felt as miserable as I should have reading it, and I know it should be read. But I didn't enjoy it. #BackToHighSchool #NeverEatingPorkAgain
So far, LOVING Dr. Strange. And it's about to get unusual... #DrStrange #WeirdIsGood
Pretty fun story, definitely see why people get caught up in this series. But seriously, Apollo was hilarious.
First experience with a Riordan book. The story is fine, but Apollo's haikus are the highlights. #HowToWriteAHaiku #IRanOutOfSyl
"Sometimes, Clark, you are pretty much the only thing that makes me want to get up in the morning." #ImNotCrying #YOURECrying #Okay
Oh, don't mind me. I'm just sobbing my eyes out in Starbucks.
On the verge of turning in a thesis for my Master's degree and reading this book - probably not super emotionally healthy. But at least I'm already on the verge of tears...
Better than Phineas Finn, still Trollope. So it's alright. Took about 300 pages to get to the juicy bits...
This might be my favorite moment in the entire book so far, and if it wasn't from the library I totally would have drawn this bat in the margin. #BatInTheFace #ImBatman #WeddingHorrorStory
"conjuring up endless plots and scenarios for this thing that never actually happened." #storyofmylife #literally #Imnotalone
It's a long haul of a read. If you like Victorian lit about parliament, here ya go. But Phineas is a jerk. It's just a fact.
It was decent - kind of thrilling, good twist at the end, but not high literature. Totally perfect for a beach read.
Tons of suspense, definitely held my breath for the last 100 pages!
