"I'm on the toilet at the 9:30 Club, and I'm wondering how mermaids pee."
Onto a new read! Definitely one of my favorite first lines.
"This is death magic, complicated and exclusive and implacable, and from the start, I wielded it with ease."
Next on my list! Hopefully it'll help me recover from Traitor to the Throne.
I definitely have a book hangover! The vivid descriptions, the relationships between the characters, the magic of the Demdji and the Djinni--I don't want to leave! Also, that twist at the end! I can see the story was angling for something like that to happen. I can't wait for the next book!
"This...It was such a small word to mean all of us and everything we'd done and everything we still had left to do."
"It didn't seem right that in this whole huge sprawling desert we would find each other somewhere neither of us was ever meant to be."
"It was impossible to respond to every sarcastic thing Hala said and still have time to do anything else with your day."
"What does it matter if I'm raising up the low or bringing the folk up on high to their knees, so long as everyone winds up with their feet in the same dust?"
Reading a bit before I have to go to work! So far, I'm enjoying Amani and her increased competency with her powers! It's so cool to see how useful they can be.
I've added new book sleeves to my shop! Check them out and don't forget to use code LITSYSLEEVES for 10% off!
So I had no idea this book came out like a week ago??? My reading game has been so off lately! (It might have something to do with the fact that I haven't used my planner in a week). But I'm reading it now and that's what counts!
I read this book a while ago, the same month I received it in my Owlcrate. I found it fascinating and a very interesting look into the fictional fantastical lives of the Brontes.
My thoughts so far: aaahhhh!
Finally (finally!) reading A Conjuring of Light!
New book sleeves! Soon to be in the shop, once I have time to take proper photos. Some time, I'm actually going to read a book, such as A Conjuring of Light or Caraval, both of which are in my possession. It seems a vacation doesn't actually afford much time for reading...
LOVING this book so far! Etta is awesome!
Currently reading this lovely book that came in the mail today! It's so much fun thus far and I can't wait to read more!
I'm hoping for some deliciously creepy scenes in this book! The first book was pretty creepy and, as it's Halloween time, I could use a little more creepy!
I just finished rereading this yesterday in prep for tomorrow! Crossing my fingers, hoping the post human gets here early!
