I loved its uniqueness. Very captivating read.
Good YA sci-fi. It was very entertaining and I really enjoyed the characters, especially Abel. I‘d definitely recommend.

Very enjoyable. Fowler gives us a late 1800‘s look at feminism in high society. 💕💕
I love Beth Revis. She‘s written a great dark fantasy that is different from anything I‘ve read lately. Highly recommended.
I seldom continue with a series after book 1 but I‘m completely captivated by this one. Another excellent book by Laini Taylor.
“And then I went on very warily, on the very tips of my toes (so cowardly am I, so afraid of the lash that was once almost laid on my own shoulders), to murmur that she should learn to laugh without bitterness at the vanities - say rather the peculiarities, for it is a less offensive word - of the other sex. For there is a spot the size of a shilling at the back of the head which one can never see for oneself.”
It wasn‘t a feminist rant and it wasn‘t a pity-party by a man-hater but a collection a really encouraging thoughts for women. Woolf didn‘t accuse or excuse. She simply offered her own thoughts on the station of women and how they can help themselves. I thought it was great.
This was a unique spin on a Agatha Christie-esque mystery. Great suspense with some interesting twists and turns. The only problem I had was the alternating viewpoints and all the different characters made it confusing at times.
Excellent. I‘m not usually one for books about angels and the like but I really enjoyed this. The characters were well fleshed out and their chemistry was outstanding. In my experience, good chemistry is very hard to find in the YA genre. Laini Taylor is quickly becoming one of my favorite YA authors.
This is a hard one to review. I thought it was very interesting and I really enjoyed it. Would I recommend it? Probably not. It‘s not for entertainment or light reading. This is more for the hardcore, dedicated reader. A lot of people are going to hate this book.
This was YA romance masked as an action/survival story. The characters are maddening. They spend more time worrying about teenagery love than their own survival. If I am trapped on an island where I‘ve been given one year to either escape (and escape is difficult) or die the last thing I‘m looking for is a boyfriend! It lacks any sort common sense. Left me feeling really frustrated.
This was very solid entertainment. It kept me guessing until the end. An enjoyable read.
It‘s halfway between pick and so-so. The first half was great but it started to linger and go on too long. Also, she changed pov‘s and didn‘t always make it clear who was narrating. There were some moments when I lost the thread of the story but overall, it was pretty good.
My second dnf this week. So disappointed. I‘ve read other Madeleine Roux and they were pretty good so I was really surprised at how awkward and wooden this book was. It was just words on a pages. I felt absolutely nothing. The characters didn‘t exist for me outside this book and the writing style felt amateurish. Too bad.
I seldom dnf a book but this one did me in. It was boring. Our hero and heroine spend way too much time making googly eyes at each other for my taste. I want action and adventure not a predictable YA romance with some sharpshooting mixed in. Plus, I‘m afraid she going to become one of those silly girls that turns stupid once she falls in love 😒.
Excellent! It takes a bit to get into but once I did I couldn‘t put it down.
I‘m not sure I feel about this one. I love Horowitz‘s books and his tv shows but this one left me confused. There was some great stuff in the book but there was also some awkwardness stemming from the fact that Horowitz is a character in his own book. I couldn‘t decide if that was unique and brave or just strange. It was certainly different.
Disappointing. The love-interests has zero chemistry, the characters became flat and boring, and the story was convoluted to me. It was, for me, a sequel that lost its way.

I preordered it and now I finally get a chance to read it! Super excited for this one! 😁
It was beautiful and brutal all at once. A great Story of a family and how one man‘s decisions affected them all irrevocably. Excellent!
“...the IQ of a mob is the IQ of its most stupid member divided by the number of mobsters,...”
A solid end to a good sci-fi trilogy. Not the best book in the series but I was still entertained.
A lovely and inspiring story about destiny and the connection between the natural world and those living within it. It didn‘t change my life but I had great appreciation for it. Beautiful cover too.
