After blasting through the first book of the ACOTAR series in 8hrs I‘m already on to Book 2, A Court of Mist and Fury. Just like the first, it is NOT disappointing…glad I was influenced to pick up this series.

Picking the one back up again…not a bad read or even a slow one. I think I was just looking for a different vibe the past few weeks so time to check this one off the list finally!!
This book hit me in all the maternal feels, like Ashley Audrain removed the veil of motherhood and the relationships with moms and their first borns, partner and subsequent children. While a psych thriller, what won me was the emotional changes mothers feel and Blythe‘s understanding of where she came from. I love the closing quotes “I am capable of moving beyond my mistakes" "I am capable to heal from the hurt and pain I have caused"
Still have another book on the go but this one jumped out at me so reading while my kids are at their extra curricular activities…does your public library have a fireplace??
Fell a bit off track with my reading as of late, work has been crazier than I‘d like so today I made room for some much needed downtime 📖🛁
Meant to get to this last month but didn‘t…inspired to start it now after getting into Netflix‘s Bodies limited series
This one took me a bit to get through to be honest. It didn‘t hold my attention as well as other similar books. It wasn‘t bad and didn‘t end up being a DNF but wasn‘t as much of a page turner like I had hoped
Took a break from posting but didn‘t stop adding to my reading list. Started this one today, perfect October spooky reading vibes
Made short work of this one! It was a good read, not one of my favourites so far this year but still good enough. I‘m interested in what Jennifer Hillier‘s other books, Little Secrets and Jar of Hearts are like. I‘ll be adding them to my stack to read soon
I ended up really enjoying The Maidens despite it being a bit harder to get into. Once the story got moving I found it hard to put down. Alex Michaelides does a good job of hiding the direction of the book making it unpredictable. I enjoyed the process of unraveling the murders with her as she unravelled her past. Complaints: short chapters made the pace feel rushed while simultaneously making it hard to get into
This YRCA book was a winner! I had a hard time putting it down. It was well paced and held my attention despite being written for a much younger audience I found myself picking it up any chance I got needing to know more about the mysterious Hawthorne family and the game that Avery has found herself at the center of. I‘m excited to get my hands on a copy of the next book but sadly will have to wait till it‘s available at my library :(
After working yesterday, an impromptu sleepover my girls had with a friend and an early morning trail race today, I‘m looking forward for this quiet time!!
Digging into this one on my lunch break today 🍴
Loved this book!! The storyline was immediately captivating and by the time I realized the story was unfolding in reverse I couldn‘t put it down. So many unexpected plot twists and turns this one is a must read for sure…
I loved this one! It was truly captivating and I found myself saying “just one more chapter” each time I picked it up. The intertwined lives of all the characters was so well thought out and really played on the ripple effect idea of one small action having far reaching impacts on the lives of others. It was raw and tender with a vulnerable look at the little secrets we all keep to protect ourselves and those around us
Finished!! I loved this book. I found the writing more polished than Pearse‘s first book, The Sanatorium. The story had great flow and the suspense would build and just when it needed it the plot would twist leaving you wanting to flip to the next chapter. This one was harder to put down and I loved every minute! I hope we see some more from Sarah Pearse!
Diving into this again after a bit of a break. I tried starting it but found myself needing some lighter reading instead so I put it down. But now it‘s back in my lap and so far I am finding myself more drawn into the storyline than I was with The Sanatorium. Excited to see what happens on this remote island…
Just finished The Sanatorium…Ready for this!
Finished!! This was a hard one to put down. I enjoyed the story line and it was full of plot twists. I did have a bit of a hard time understanding all of Elin‘s choices and actions knowing her Detective background but it was still engaging and well written. The epilogue hooked me and I‘m excited to pick up Sarah Pearse‘s The Retreat as soon as I can!
I can‘t put this one down! It‘s definitely got the psychological thriller vibe going for it and as I read it I can totally see this being done as a movie. Intrigued to find out where it goes from here…1/3 of the way in so far
I read this after reading Witch, please by Ann Aguirre and I enjoyed this one more. I liked the back story of Gavin and it was neat to read some of the same events from Witch, please but from Clem‘s perspective. It was cute and light and an easy read.
This was an excellent book although there should be a trigger warning for the violence that does take place in the book. I found it hard to read mostly because I have 2 daughters of my own. Karin Slaughter definitely delivered as this one was tough to put down. Only complaint was the chapters felt long and I hate having to stop reading mid-chapter.
This book was good but a slow read. I found would get caught up in a few chapters and then the pace would slow down and I‘d lose interest however, I enjoyed the ending and overall found it a decent read
