Finished this last night. Enjoyed it so much! I will definitely get more of Curtis Sittenfeld's books.
Finished this last night. Enjoyed it so much! I will definitely get more of Curtis Sittenfeld's books.
Starting this tonight. Seemed like a good choice for #junebookbugs @RealLifeReading #allthesingleladies
This is my current read. It is considered Young Adult, so I'm tagging it for the #junetunz challenge hosted by @Cinfhen #smellsliketeenspirit. I'm really enjoying the book BTW!
This is my #shelfie for #riotgrams. I may have posted these shelves before . . . They're my favorite for sentimental reasons. (So many June photo challenges!!!)
I'm going to do my best to participate in some June photo challenges, so here goes! This is my anticipated June read. I have been waiting to watch the second season of Syfy's The Expanse as well as waiting to read the third book, Abbaddon's Gate, in the series. I wanted to be able to savor the experiences. I love this series! It's fun, but thoughtful, reading material. @RealLifeReading

School's out today, so I'm officially beginning my #summerreading. Woohoo for summer's schedule allowing me to stay up way too late and read!!
Stopped by the library today and checked these out. I'm getting ready for summer reading. School is out in 8 days!
This was "okay." It took me longer to read than I had hoped. I didn't really connect with any of the characters, and it wasn't as suspenseful as I expected.
Day 8 of #riotgrams features #blackhistory. I teach art in an elementary school. I pulled some of the books that I have in my class library. One of them is about Dave the Potter. It is a beautiful book about a slave who wrote poetry on the pots he made. The book is worth checking out. #davethepotter #labancarrickhill #bryancollier
Day 7 #riotgrams. #mylocallibrary is just a few minutes away from my house which makes it really convenient to go. It's a great building, inside and out.
This book was okay. I will probably continue with the series for now. I enjoyed the Lady Grey series more. I'm not sure if that is due to me and my current mood or if it is due to the writing or storyline.
Day 4 of #riotgrams is my favorite villain. Mine happens to be Tyrion from this series. I'm considering him a villain since he is a Lannister. I love his wit. #favoritevillian
Day 3 of #riotgrams. (Yes, a day late.) #onewordtitle. These were pulled from the stacks next to my bed. Some are tbr, some have been read, and some, alas, may never be read.
Day 2 of #riotgrams. I have been known to read in a lot of places. I almost always carry a book or kindle with me. I've even been known to read at a Braves game (My husband enjoyed the game; I enjoyed my book.). Mostly, though, my bed and the comfy chair is #whereIread.
This my #shelfie for Bookriot's #riotgrams. It isn't the only bookcase in our house, but it's the prettiest. It came from my husband's grandparents' house. I love it! It houses childhood favorites, required college reading that we couldn't part with, and some more recent keepers.
I really liked this book. Made myself put it down Thursday night even though I wanted to keep reading late into the night. Finished it today.
This was the first book I read in 2017. It takes place in a future in which water is a commodity that is fought over by corporations and government. It has created a class system that is medieval in nature. It was both suspenseful and thought provoking.
I'm going to continue to read this series. Sometimes the characters are annoying, but not so much so that I'm ready to quit it. I think I want them all to grow up just a bit. #decemberreads #fantasy #femalewarriors
Excellent book. Thoughtful commentary on journalism without being too preachy. I've been watching some of the tv show, Black Mirror, and this book tackles the same issues. How public perception is so often tied to the media. It's a good mystery too. #decemberreads
This wasn't my favorite Connie Willis book. It wasn't bad; it was just a little too light for me. I think I missed the suspense of time travel. #decemberreads #romance
I really enjoyed this book. It was a change for me - usually I read fiction. I found the description of U boats fascinating. It would be my #bestofdecember for sure. #decemberreads
I stayed up late finishing this the other night. Definitely a love story, but not at all sappy.
It has been a super crazy past couple of days, so being able to escape into this Harlan Coben book was a blessing. It wasn't as intense as some of his other books, but overall it was a great way to unwind at the end of the day.
Was eager to begin this since it has gotten so much press lately. It was definitely a quick read, but I'm still looking for that "unputdownable" book.
I enjoyed this read. I wish I could have devoted more uninterrupted reading time to it. Instead it was pretty much bedtime reading. I think that for some it could be that "can't put it down" book.
#booktober #longtitle. Searched my shelves for books with a long title. My Trixie Belden books won. I loved this series when I was a kid. She beat Nancy Drew hands down!
Day 11 #booktober This was the first memoir I read. I hated it - couldn't finish it. Actually I don't think I've ever finished any of the memoirs I've tried to read. I guess the genre isn't my cup of tea. #memorablememoirs
I started this series earlier this year and have really enjoyed it. Usually my sci fi reading is heavy on the fantasy side. I'm glad I gave Leviathan Wakes a try; loved the ending of Caliban's War, and am trying to put reading the third installment off as long as possible. I want this series to LAST. Day 10 #booktober #outofthisworld #kindlebooks
Finished Still Life last night. It was okay - not bad but not great either. I found myself thinking about my TBR stack while I was reading.
Just finished this yesterday. Enjoyed it, which isn't really a surprise - I am definitely a Karin Slaughter fan.
