Just as compelling as the first time I read it. I did find the differences between the TV version and the book interesting. The changes made sense, especially Drummer for Bull. Great series, great book.

I really liked this one, despite taking a long break from it. I continue to marvel at the complexity and relatability of the characters—especially the female ones. Here, even the objectively bad people are still people. It's less action-focused than the previous books, but I don't consider that a bad thing. Makes space for a lot of character development.
5/5
Bk4 of #WinterReadathon is done! I actually finished it Thursday and am already 12 chapters into Cibola Burn on audio. Really need to buy the rest of the series in physical form. Another brilliant instalment in The Expanse series, this one was about Holden & the Rocinante at the Ring with Melba in pursuit. IYKYK. Highly recommend this space opera, the characters are brilliant & the story is gripping👍 #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022
3✨Finally read a book this month! 🤩 I love Sci-fi and this series is great. There is a lot going on so if you read this make sure you are focused and ready. There is the Slow zone and connection with another species. There is fighting, and enemies becoming okay with each other. People in charge doing a bad job and others trying to fix problems no one has solved.
Dice would prefer to be loved than me read. Domino being amazing in the background letting me read. Hard to tell with these sisters, but there is two dogs in this picture. 😅
Poor Domino has anxiety. So she needed medicated to get her shots today. My poor tired fur baby. 💛
An exciting turning point in the Expanse series. For the full review, please visit http://benjamin-m-weilert.com/index.php/2022/06/01/book-abaddons-gate-2013/
I am slowly making my way through the Expanse series and I love each book more than the last. #12booksof2021 #March #2021 #bestof2021 @Andrew65
An action-packed third book in the series. I‘ve really fallen in love with these characters, and can‘t wait to see where the story goes from here.
I think I‘ll be finishing out my #20in4 #readathon with another audiobook. This is Bk3 in The Expanse series, the protomolecule from Venus has built the ring in deep space and Earth, Mars & the OPA are posturing over who goes through first. Meanwhile Jim & the crew of the Rocinante are in the thick of it all again, but Jim has a problem in the form of Miller‘s doppelgänger sent by the molecule. So far it‘s good, but I miss Avarasala!
This series is epic, and just keeps getting better. A mutiny in space and gateways into new star systems creates an amazing story. Great characters and amazing suspense. The panic and worry about the outcome was real, I was entirely invested in these characters. #highlyrecommend
And that was the very last bit of the series that's a reread for me! Onward!
I want Bobbie and Avasarala again now, please? (No idea if I get Avasarala, but I know I get Bobbie, I peeked.)
When I do read this, I read this in big chunks... like, 100s of pages just melt away. I wish all books would be like that!
Didn't get much reading done today, though... I normally read on my treadmill, and it's broken! :(
Sometimes with books I end up getting too attached to the characters, and not wanting to read on because I don't want to know what happens.
...Yeah. Even though in this case I've actually read the whole book before and remember most of what happens. I just don't want to see this stuff happen! Gah.
I think this is the last one in the series which will be a reread for me... Almost afraid of what's coming, knowing these books! 😛
It was really hard to put this book down for things like food preparation and sleeping. The crew of the Rocinante are in increasing jeopardy from start to finish, and most of what happens around them is completely out of their control. I loved the introduction of Pastor Anna, such a humane, compassionate person. She provides a spark of hope that maybe humanity isn't beyond redemption, no matter what other, terrible things take place. On to book 4!
This month I was able to finish 11 books which seems to be my average. I picked up gaming again so I wasn't fully devoted to reading as I had been in previous months.

I'm now at a total of 4955 points in my #BuriedAliveChallenge with an average of 112 points per qualifying book.
There was only one book I wasn't totally engrossed in this month and the highlight was getting back into the world of The Expanse.
#AprilWrapUp
Took a bit to get into as it put the Roci crew in a passive role for the first part of the book, but it picked up well. One downside is Clarissa/Melba‘s arc, which gets pretty muddied by the end as she flip flops between what she wants to do; arguably it‘s a more realistic arc in that people don‘t always make concrete decisions right away but it felt a bit contrived at times. All in all a fun read and looking forward to reading the next one.
With each installment of this series I love it more and more. This one doesn‘t have the focus on as much of the political drama the last one did and was more of a look into the best and worst of humanity‘s attributes. It was also my #BookSpin #TripleSpin

It looks like I had a pretty productive reading week but most of what I read was on the shorter side of average. I enjoyed them all though and was able to cross off both my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin selections
#WeeklyForecast
I'm currently reading my #TripleSpin selection and hope to finish it this week so I can move on to my two #CalibreRoulette picks.
Both girls are keeping me company as I start my #TripleSpin book. It will be nice to watch more of the show after I finish this one.

Yeah- more space opera- more expansion of the expanse- give me more because this didn‘t disappoint!
So am I the only one who gets anxious when reading a series thinking that the next book will suck and the enjoyment will come to a crashing halt? I was wondering if this was the case when I started this 3rd book... lucky for me that‘s not happening- addictive as ever with Corey just ratcheting it up- taking the plot to places I just don‘t expect!
Finally got around to reading the 3rd in the Expanse Series. Loved it. I'm actually enjoying the differences between the books and the TV series. Both are solid with great characters and wonderful world building. Great books for any hard Sci-fi fan!
There is nothing better than beautifully written hard sci-fi.
"She ran across the skins of the ships, leaped from one to the next like a nerve impulse crossing a synapse. Like a bad idea being thought by a massive, moonlit brain."
Least favorite of the series so far. Maybe it‘s because I can‘t help but to compare it to the show, and I think the changes the show made for this part of the story worked better. Probably because the tension between Drummer and Ashford in the show was so good, and I missed it in the book. Plus, no Avasarala and not enough Amos.
Checking in for the #24B4Monday #24B42020 #readathon & the #WinterGames for #TeamNutcracker I‘ve switched back to a print book, the audiobook, while delightfully cheesy, didn‘t put me to sleep at all😠so I‘ve chosen the 3rd book in The Expanse series as Bk13 of the Games & Bk2 of the readathon. What are you reading today? 1pt #PointsTotal-2,286
I didn't enjoy this one quite as much as the first two books, but still a very good read. The plot continues to evolve in new ways and I can't get enough of the Rocinante crew!
This is such a great series. Hoping for more Amos in the next one 😁 So many great characters though. Lots of action, excellent plot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Book 3 of the Expanse read in 3 days... Lucky for me it was a long weekend. #bookandtea
February Recap:
Best of the month: Abaddon's Gate
Worst of the month: Christmas Cake Murder
Of these 10, I own 7, borrowed 3, 3 were audiobooks.
Not a spectacular month, but decent.
Finishing up this behemoth and then jumping right into the next one! I just can't get over how absolutely amazing this series is. Hands down the best sci fi series I have ever read! Moukou is keeling me company on this snowy, windy Sunday! 📚💕 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten
Another 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read from the Expanse series. I love these books. Love the show. LOVE Amos. I try to read ahead of what I watch, so I haven't seen any of season 3 yet. Looking forward to getting back to it.
Loved it just as much as the previous books, though I missed some of the characters. I am caught up with the TV show now so the next book will be totally new!
Sure, they were all trapped in orbit around an alien space station that periodically changed the rules of physics and had killed a bunch of them, but now they‘d decided to start shooting each other too.
My plans for today. 😁
Started the third book in the Expanse series. Guys, I adore this series so much. It's absolutely incredible. Full of action, thrills, humor, and amazing character development. It's honestly the best scifi series I've ever read! ??
"In a conversational tone, Amos said, 'Any idea what we're expecting here?'
'Nope,' said Holden as he clicked the rifle to autofire.
'All right then,' said Amos cheerfully."
I‘m still hoping to finish Abaddon‘s Gate before midnight but I don‘t know if I‘ll make it 😬

Book 3 in The Expanse series is action-packed, political, even religious, and it is epic science fiction. The chapters in this story revolve around four characters (sadly, not my favorite, Avasarala), and the book ends where series 3 of the TV show ends. Without being too "spoilerish", I can say the story line is now open to go in many different places.
So I was m.i.a. for a while, and in that time I ditched The Martian, passed on the rest of Robin Hobb‘s Farseer trilogy, and finally landed on Abaddon‘s Gate. I like this series, it‘s consistently good, but it‘s never crossed over into love. I am highly interested in the tv show—I think I would enjoy the story in that medium a lot more.
This one kept me up way past my bedtime. It‘s a great addition to The Expanse series. There are so many moving parts and so much action that it‘s hard to put down. I highly recommend this series if you haven‘t read it before! I can‘t wait to dive into the next book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The protomolecule has formed some sort of gate in the orbit of Uranus and humanity isn't quite sure what to make of it. Where does the gate lead? Is the product of evil or something less menacing? No one knows and everyone is scared.
🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀Just finished book 3. I loved it and am liking forward to reading the next one.
