I‘m thinking of leaving Litsy, but I wanted to leave you all with a must-read book before I go. Read more women of color. And once I‘m gone, find me on insta (@thejillest) for a less-carefully-curated peek at what I‘m reading.

Book haul from vacation! This ottessa has been on my list for a while ❤️
I abandoned my Litsy for a little while, but not my reading! Just getting going in the only revolutions reading group on Facebook. Read some of this beautiful prose...
Surprise mail from my sweet momma. We don‘t agree on everything, but we both love a Terry Tempest Williams. Can‘t wait to start this one!
May 10th is when our story starts. What called her now calls you. Xanther lives.
Great read about a part of history I knew nothing about. Ung says in the author‘s note “if you had been living in Cambodia during this period, this would be your story too.”
My tbr stack. Trying to pick a new book for bookclub, I think The Power is next?
This is the first VanderMeer that I‘ve read, I‘m super into it. And I love the hidden bear on the cover!
The lovey @itskaylatb and I are reading this book for our inaugural book club read! Everyone is welcome to join! We will be reading the first ten chapters this week.
Too scary!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱 I can only manage a few pages at a time before I need a break.
Birthday book haul 1 of 3 came in the mail today! Some of these have been on my tbr list for YEARS!
Taking a break from the HoL for a bit. Another recommendation, but I‘m not super into it so far. Maybe I‘m jaded against books this year. Anyone have a book recommendation that will pull me out of my funk?
I finished, but I forced myself through, and admittedly I skimmed good chunks of it. I do not understand the appeal. I guess the documentary it inspired is better, but I can‘t find that anywhere. Do not read unless you‘re into torturing yourself slowly. And in italics.
This was recommended to me, it was fine. Not “The Best Book I Read All Year,” but a good enough vacation read. An interesting look at how grief affects us all in different ways.
Got my clean copy for writing notes! Since it‘s been a few years (ok, more than a few) since I read through the whole book, I‘m planning on pre-reading it before the group so I‘m *extra* prepared.
Love the little stack of anaïs nin on my bookshelf
Only 50 pages in but I‘ve already cried.
Really fun to read, delightful little bites of surrealism. A perfect escape from the tedium if that *other* book
A poem inside a story inside a book inside a novel. Bookception!
In the tumult of the last two weeks I‘ve completely abandoned my #bookclub read. Sorry, book club! I‘m trying to catch up! (If only something would happen in the story. Anything. Reading this is like pulling teeth, but in italics.)
