I've been in a reading slump lately. Not much interested me. This book fixed that! It's engaging, thrilling, terrifying, and captivating. I got chills reading it several times. It's a shame that Michelle didn't live to see this monster caught.
The podcast series Casefile did a great several episodes on the GSK, which I highly recommend to complement this book.

This was my pick for the @bookriot #readharder challenge for a novel of colonial or postcolonial literature. (Also a pick for my personal challenge of re-reading assigned books from English classes in high school.) This is a beautiful, sad book and I think everyone should read it.

I laughed out loud at half the pages in this comic. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants a quirky read.

Portal fantasies are not usually my thing but this one was great. I really enjoyed the magic and the world building, and it has my favorite fantasy thing- kick-ass teenagers! It was also nice to have the world-walking main character actually reflect on how her earthly biases and upbringing affect her interactions with the new world and new people around her.

wizard-rachel I will say though that the editing is not great, so if you're bothered by misplaced quotation marks and missing paragraph breaks for dialogue, maybe skip this one. There are a loooot of those kinds of errors. 6y

I really have a soft spot for the books where the fangirl meets the object of her fangirl admiration. Brings me back to my middle-school self! This book was great-- super cute and there was a lot of growth on the parts of both POV characters.

I'm so excited to read this book. Tamora Pierce has been one of my favorite authors since 2001 or 2002 when I first read Wild Magic. I was immediately hooked on her storytelling and bought every book she'd published from then on. Daine and Kel's stories in particular were my go-to books when I wanted something familiar and comforting. It's been a few years since I read any of her works so I'm excited to dive back in!

While not as good as the first in the series, still very entertaining. I loved this particular quote a lot!

This book was great! Nothing like 450 pages of historical zombie fiction!

I have to admit that I've never actually read the original Sherlock Holmes books. I've only recently started to enjoy reading mysteries. This one was fun to read and the mystery was engaging and kept me guessing (incorrectly every time!).

All I could think of while reading this book is how the technology used to 'take down' Kyle *actually exists in real life*.

This was a really engaging book. Eleanor is a unique narrator and even though a lot of her actions are super cringe-worthy, I quickly started cheering for her.

Great suggestion from @bookriot for the 2018 #readharder challenge. I've been enjoying graphic novels and comics lately and am glad I picked this one up.

A retelling of Snow White that focuses on the relationship between S.W. and her stepmother. Bonus lesbian romance!
