As a talk therapist, Greg knows all about dark secrets, but when a childhood friendship comes to the fore and the police turn their spotlight on him, the thought of analyzing his own psyche is a disturbing prospect. How far can he trust his own memories? With his life coming apart at the seams, and his grip on reality beginning to unravel, Greg must face the ghosts of his past if he hopes to prove his innocence and live to see another day."

Pickpick

There were three major twists in this book, all of which are fairly obvious. But the characters are interesting and the plot is pretty good, so the writing holds up.

Anyone have any thoughts about the October batch of Kindle First books? I can't make up my mind. Sort of leaning towards the ones on the top row.

*If you are an Amazon Prime customer, you can get an early e-book release for free. You choose one of six offerings.

melbeautyandbooks I went back and forth between the top two and decided on Before You Leap. 8y
Carol I've been a prime member for 10 years and didn't know about this! You have changed my life!! 8y
DeeLew I haven't decided... I'm leaning toward Evelyn, After. 8y

jpmcwisemorgan I went with Venom & Vanilla. 8y
beagle.mama None struck me as must reads this month, but the one on the lower right is my most likely. 8y
Alfoster @Well-ReadNeck I'm trying Evelyn After. It was that or Leap so let's all share which was good! 8y
melbeautyandbooks @carol- Sign up for the email. You will get it every month when it is time to choose. It keeps me from missing out. You can also borrow 1 book a month via your kindle. You have to do it through the kindle store on your kindle, not via Amazon. (At least that is how I have figured it out). Not all books are available for borrow, but there will be a borrow button if it is. 8y
Imagineannie I picked the Mayer. Seemed like a good choice for Halloween month. 8y
candc320 I went with Evelyn, After. 8y
Carol @melbeautyandbooks thank you so much!! I knew about the odd free borrow 1 a month thing but only did it once or twice because it's so worky. I'll definitely sign up for the email. Yay! 8y
Larkken Neat! Suddenly I'm regretting that we set up our prime account connected to my husband's kindle. I'll have to tell him about this! 8y
Karen3 I went with Evelyn, After. 8y
melbeautyandbooks @carol-Happy to share fun free book info! We might as well get all we can out of that Prime membership! 📖❤️ 8y
ErinC I chose Evelyn, After. Not sure if I made the right decision but hopefully it's good! 8y
missberlyreads I'm going with Venom & Vanilla! 8y
Annl I agree @Carol . I had no idea! How do I miss these things? 8y
Theresa I can't decide either. I thought about Wake in Winter because I'm trying to read more translations to broaden my horizons + the subject matter is very different from anything I've read before. But I also thought about Evelyn, After since it seems to fit right into my wheelhouse. I decided to wait a while to give it more thought. So glad you posted this & I'll be keeping an eye out for reviews. 😄 8y
Beetle I thought this seemed like a weaker batch than last months, but can't pinpoint why. I went with Before you Leap. 8y
booksandsympathy I went with Before You Leap. 8y
Well-ReadNeck @Theresa after the comments, I'm sort of leaning toward Wake in Winter, too. If only because I feel like several others are well represented and if they're good, I'll hear about them here and pick them up later. Also, the last two I got were mystery/thrillers and I sort of want a new genre. And, your books in translation comment may have pushed the scales! 😘 8y
Samwise_Gamgee It was a difficult choice this month! I chose Evelyn, After. 8y
GlitteryOtters I grabbed Wake in Winter & preordered The Woman Who Breathed Two Worlds too. It was hard to narrow it down this month! 8y
AmandaV None of them really grabbed me so I ended up picking Evelyn, After. Looked the most interesting of the bunch to me 8y
