Dark chocolate all the way. I never liked white chocolate, and I don't have much of a taste for milk chocolate anymore.

Mounds is a favorite chocolate Halloween treat, followed closely by raisinets

Struggling with this picture book rating. On one hand I want to like it because we need more diverse books & the mom does affirm the son‘s worth. On the other she bakes cupcakes & he takes them to the 3 white kids who were picking on him & all is right with the world. Until the next time he doesn‘t have cupcakes? The kids haven‘t really learned anything & the responsibility to reconcile was placed on the bullied rather than the bullies. ⬇️

megnews Maybe it‘s because I‘m currently reading Caste, but I think this would not have sat well with me had I read it to my kids when they were young. I think Taye Diggs meant well but this missed the mark for me. (edited) 4y

mandarchy Thanks for the review. I wonder if it just didn't age well. Would we have accepted this in 2011? I think it's a sad reflection of reality, not meant to instruct, but inform. 4y

megnews @mandarchy it probably depends on how long someone has been awake to these problems. I don‘t think I would have liked this in 2011 but I can see how more people are aware now so more people may be uncomfortable with it. 4y

I am thrilled at how history is about to repeat itself AND I can now start reading children's books again. I wanted to get all the books they had at the library for my granddaughter today. However, I got only these.
